    Problem with MH Ballast

We switched out the blablahanator in a MH ballast. It wasn't all that hard and not hard to find one. There was a place north of where you are that sells them. It didn't even need to be soldered on. I'd take it apart and look at it.

... from FOWLR to ReefTank ???

We started our 120g destined for reef tank with PC lights and ONLY reef safe fish (no triggers, fox face, etc). Tangs, chromis, clowns, etc. We had the fish only for 3 or 4 months before introducing our first corals. The fox face will pick at zoas and possibly LPS, the triggers, while many can...

    Fuge Livestock

It can't be a refuge to pods if you have livestock in there. Best to just let it fester. It will do fine without any additions.

    please id coral

What I can see there looks a lot like a galaxea. Does it look like the coral in that link to you? If it is Galaxea, it doesn't really grow like a cap (plating), but more of an encrusting (like Hydnophora). Galaxea is an aggressive stinging coral that needs lots of room for it's nightly escapades...

    Which store has best water?

We only ever purchased SW from Trop. It was always around 1.021 at the time (5 years ago). It was 50c for fresh and 1$ for salt. If I lived near Red Sand I'd go there instead. He does 100g water changes regularly and always has gently used saltwater around.

    Toadstools Acting Weird

Part of the growing process is to shed a layer of skin, almost like a snake. Once the layer of skin is shed, they typically go back to "normal". This is very common for leathers, especially during growth periods.

Water Flow in the Aquarium - Experiments and learnings from Jake Adams' workshop

If she's anything like my maroon she's either going to pick up the rock and throw it or dig somewhere else. Do you think she's cleaning to get ready to mate? My female stopped when she stopped mating.

    Sea Cucumbers

I had no idea they could "split". Then I found one in my tank downstairs! I had no idea how it had gotten in there. I guess that might be the answer!

    Hey where'd I go??

When you get a chance tell us all about your venture! I'd love to hear more about what's dragged you away from us! We missed you (and all the "raffle ticket sellers" you had at your disposal)! Much continued success and we hope to see you soon (this month's meeting is in Bridgewater and next...
