Where are the 90s at? I'd be afraid that hole would bleed water unless it was in a place where that wouldn't be a problem (overflow box, sump), I'd be hesitant.

You must use a UV shield with the DE bulbs. This shield has to be removed and reinstalled every time you change the bulbs. We couldn't do that, given our installation. We went with SE so that we didn't need the shields on our pendants.

We've done plastic on all 3 of our tanks. Never had salt creep between the glass and plastic. I've heard something about painting the glass reducing the light reflection and thereby making the tank darker. I'm surprised that the tank actually seems brighter with it painted.

We have our Aquacontroller turning our pump on for a short period of time every 6 hours.

What is your return pump? You need to factor that heat source in along with the T5s. Do you have fans in the hood? Over the sump? Those are two good options as well as this will bring the temps down significantly. Your house temperature also will factor into the temp of the tank and the temps...

It is the cyanoacrylate gel (IC-Gel) from the recent buy, not the thinner stuff from the prior buy. It is GREAT stuff.

Since the tang is so broad and flat it doesn't stand a chance. And since they're SUCH algae grazers, they seem to love powerheads anyway. The two things in combination have proven fatal.

Club still has some of the glue gel we bought in the last buy if you're interested.

I've lost a couple of fish to them. :( One was a perfectly healthy purple tang. The air slurping will cause micro bubbles. Also make sure that the flat part is up (that's the anti-vortexing).
