Suggestions for glass protection for bare bottom reef ?

I'd be careful with cutting boards. They are sometimes treated with algaecide or other chemicals to prevent bacteria.

    Drilling Glass

Since this is from OCTOBER we'll assume that the OP has already either drilled the glass or gone a different route. Thanks for all of the posts.

    Breeding Banggai

Maybe once he has a clutch you should back off on feeding a bit? I'm sure the folks over on MOFIB will be of some help!

    January Meeting Thanks & Recap

Not to worry, Ed... your camera is a Nikon. They are easily trained to produce GREAT results! :) Sorry, Brian, you weren't so lucky Here are some of the shots that I took: Wow! This Nikon is AMAZING! Glad it isn't a canon

Kat! Good to "see" you! :) Glad to hear the clowns are all getting along and that they are ALL now hosting happily! How's the tank doing?

    dog foods

Yeah, Jim. That's the main reason I'm switching. Zenni (our pup) also seems to have an itchy tummy. Not sure if it is related to the food, but I figure switching to a better food might help eliminate that as an cause.

Aquarium fish friendly glass shop, middlesex county.

SGarron had some glass cut for the 90g he built, I believe. Hopefully he'll chime in.

    Aquamedic dosing pump

Siphon... We have a solonoid in line with ours to prevent siphoning in either direction (it would back siphon if the level of the holding vessel was more than the sump or over-feed if the source water was higher). The solonoid is critical to prevent failure.

    Salt

Seachem Reef Salt is made at the IO/RC plant (same bucket) to the Seachem specs. I thought that was interesting (but for WHATEVER reason it lost credibility with me there). I don't care for the red sea. My silicates are higher since using it. BillyR had a bad case of dinoflagelletes after...

    dog foods

Yeah, I'm with you, Deb. That really grosses me out too. I'll stick to store bought. I'm thinking the Wellness core would be a good food to switch her over to. Of course not until after I bought a bag of the Blue Buffalo... further reading on that they say it isn't certified to be ethoxoquin...

    dog foods

The food we use is rated 1 star and it doesn't have any ash. It does however have wheat and some other starch as fillers. It is good to read the low end and high end reviews to see what elements are commended v. condemned. Reading the ingredients (without being informed) made it look to me like...

    Green Algae Clifton

Does it siphon off? Does it look like green cyano? What kind of sand did you use?

    frogspawn

I've had my clowns pull a piece off, but I don't know that mine have ever dropped bits off that were able to grow.

    dog foods

Our dog is a big fan of deer and rabbit poop. She is currently eating beneful puppy, but the fillers in that are appauling and the food rates 1 measly star on the dogfood website. Seems like that puts it in the barely fit for consumption category!

    dog foods

Very interesting site, but how do you use it to shop for foods?! I can see me making 10 trips to and from the store trying to figure out which of the "good ones" they carry! And how many stars at a minimum would you accept? and ... I'm still a bit bewildered by it all.

    SPS browning out FAST!

I agree with Merv. It SHOULDN'T be the problem, but I guess you just never know. How many watts and how many hours a day? Pure Actinic? What kind of bulb? How long has it been on the tank for?
