I'll let others comment who have one....and if it's not enough, the 170 is coming out this summer.

Help Getting Rid of Brown Algae in Sand Bed

The problem with forums is that you can't pick up cynicism, innuendo and snarky comments. So Phil, I'm not sure if you're being snarky or if your kids have had you locked up in a closet for ten months. The Giro, according to some, supposedly is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It...

I also changed out the Koralia nano powerhead I had in the refugium. This POC (piece-of-crap) had started to stall and required me to to put a toothpick into the front of the powerhead to "start" the pump. I originally liked Koralia when they had simple numbers....like the K4's. Still use...

A month or so ago I picked up some Caulerpa from Sunny. I threw it in my refugium, which has a deep sandbed and a powerhead. When I had cheato in there, it wasn't an issue because the ball of cheato just seemed to tumble around as a ball. However, with the Caulerpa, it "planted" itself in...

Majano Wand or High powered laser for aiptasia removal

Gee whiz, that thing looks like a major-large light sabor from Star Wars......mine is bigger than yours! Matt, with you going zap-happy, I just envision you with a snarky psycho smirk on your face, with that laser glow in your eyes, while you're vaporizing everything. :o :o

    Free – Four Dosing Bottles

Doing a little closet cleaning and realized I still had these. Last chance before they go to the recycler. I most likely will be going to this month's meeting at Herb's. Let me know.

Anything and everything is possible. If you bounce a ball on a brick wall, eventually all the molecules in the ball will be going in the same direction as the wall, and the ball will pass right through the wall. However, the likelyhood is extremely slim (with the ball and the wall, and the...

    150G rebuilt/reset - lesson learned!

No...for two reasons. The play sand/pool sand is most likely treated with stuff and secondly, it is silica based sand. The sand we need to use in our tanks is aragonite based (calcium based). Check out either Petco or PetSmart. One of them has aragonite based sand at relatively low cost...

The precipitation of the calcium to calcium carbonate in the container will lower the amount of calcium available to your tank. Calcium carbonate at tank pH will never resolubilize. Granted, this amount will not be that large, where it makes a significant difference, but it's still happening...

John, just to be clear, mine are covered as well. Originally used one gallon juice jugs, but refilling them was difficult through the small opening in the top. These cereal containers have that wide door-like opening, making refilling very easy.

Carbon Dioxide Precipitating my Calc Solution So I went to top off my calc container today and as I begin to dump in fresh solution, I see a milky white precipitate getting kicked up. My holding containers for alk and calc are one gallon cereal containers with wide mouth openings. Here's a...

    Babies??

Popped open the canopy this morning (before lights) and saw these guys hanging out on the flare of the Loc-Line. I'm guessing baby stomatella? Anyone else care to venture what they are?

    Holy cow!

Ouch! When I don't know about a fish, I go to LiveAquaria and check out the info there. With Jawfish, first it said that they were peaceful.....and then it said to feed three times a day. Well I guess that was happening....just not by you. Sorry for your losses. Are you planning on...

Can anyone reccomend a miter saw?

Matt, I'm not sure if it's because I'm old school, but I never liked the laser. I've always just eyed it up and nudge cut to check that I'm aligned and then cut. Do the same with my radial arm saw. Also, never had a problem with the release handles...to remove the saw from the stand...

Can anyone reccomend a miter saw?

Matt, I have a 12 inch Dewalt compound with the stand. It came with the laser, but I didn't like it, and removed it. For the typical homeowner, I wouldn't recommend this saw....it's contractor quality......over kill......and I'm sick (Tim the Toolman sick).....and price, we won't talk...

Can anyone reccomend a miter saw?

Good choice. I do like the slide option with this saw. I just wish my chop saw was 200 bucks! I spent more on the stand then that.
