Unfortunately, you can't run that x500 on one tank (unless it was 400-600g). We ended up getting one for each leg (for the price of that one). So we got one for the 150 stock tank, 1 for the 125 frag tank, and 2 small ones for our feeds to the 180. They say that you don't want to use one that...

I dosed 1/2 a white on 575. But I didn't add subsequent doses. We'll see where I am after a couple of months though. We didn't treat the fuge and we did a decent water change before bringing it back online. I do think we lost our mandarin, but he's never out, so he could just be in hiding?!

One concern I have is that if egg sacs can still be persistant after 3 treatments, how would a dip be a preventative? I can hardly imagine a dip would help in that case? What I did differently was that I left the meds in for a full week before running carbon or skimmer or doing a water change...

What dose were you using on the 58? Did you run carbon or skimmer? How soon? Did you do a water change between doses? If so how much? It sounds like you didn't get them all the first time. Unless you had acro still in your display, I would say that the fallow period was more than acceptable.

What do the things you found on the slimer look like? Do you have a photo of them (or the photo you used to identify them)? Sorry to hear about the bugs. Just another good reason to QT all corals. I can't stress this enough!

There are definitely benefits to both ways. With them combined in one system you have the benefit of one water change, one Ca reactor, one Kalk reactor, one skimmer. The downside, as you said is that you would need additional QT space. Separating them gives you the benefit of a second water...

You can either make a rack to put them on and hang it on the side of your tank or put them in the sand. With any luck it won't wander too far, but a 6-8" RBTA is going to take up 10-12" of space. I personally wouldn't want to make that sacrifice of space in a tank so small.

Those of us (MOST of us) who don't use a "filter" under the tank use a small tank (10-15g in your case) in the stand to hold macro algae (caulerpa, chaeto, rock, etc). The second you put rock, salt and water together in one place, you're getting crazy. You NEED algae free water or you're going...

You can either get a cheap skimmer or a good skimmer. You can't get a cheap skimmer that works well. The skimmer goes in the sump, outside of the sump, or hangs on the tank. You wouldn't put it in your display tank.

Montis and Slimer will have different enemies. The montis would be monti eating nudis and the slimer would most likely be either red bugs or acro eating flatworms. (AEFW). Hopefully you don't have a collection of pests working for the enemy!
