instead of cleaning the whole skimmer just do the neck and cup along with a vinegar bath of the pump(s). i clean my collection cup and neck and thats about it unless theres alot of gunk

I was flipping them inside out then using hot water cycle in the washer with no bleach. now i use a dab of bleach and triple rinse cycle them. also don't turn them inside out any more
