Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Great news Phyl.
Wish you had done this last year and you could have helped me out when some of our former experts were bashing me for recommending the same approach!
What are you using for your 2-part?
If you use washing soda, baking soda baked in an oven to drive out the CO2 and moisture, for the alkalinity; it raises the ph as well.
Aquatic Obsessions, hands down.
Will listens to his customers, stocks what they want at fair prices and gives great advice.
He will sacrifice a sale to prevent an animal from going into a wrong envirionment and will always defer to another expert if he is not sure of the answer to a question...
Thanks everyone and very sorry for your loss as well Mike.
I'm doing much better today. The whole thing has made me pause and reflect quite a bit.
As a deacon I frequently minister to people with terminal illnesses and conduct numerous wake services. Roxie touched me more deeply than most of...
Thanks everyone!
I'm glad you got to meet her too Deb.
She had a great life right up until the last day. She had slowed down a bit and was losing weight, but until the stroke yesterday morning, she could pretty much do anything she wanted.
So long to Roxie. My best buddy for almost 15 years. She had to leave us yesterday after having a stroke.
I tried to avoid another sad post, but you guys are family and Roxie has been on my mind all day.
Now she gets to do this all she wants!
And sorry Wayne, as much as I love Pyrennes...
Since it's new and seems to have fallen, it probably has some tissue damage and developed an infection.
It needs a lugols dip or some other coral medication. I've been fortunate not to get any infections so I hope someone can suggest the best dip.
Also, double check your parameters as Phyl...
Thanks Jeff!
Rich, he's probably full from a 20 head hammer he just ate. ;)
Hmmm.. $200, that pretty, and very little posted about them. Something is fishy. ::)
That's an iodine supplement, not strong enough for medicinal use.
Look Here on Premium Aquatics Website.
Move it to a low to moderate flow area and moderate light location as well.
Try to coax it to eat some mysis. Turn the pumps of when feeding, give a little squirt of food and see if you...
Well I think we were all clear that our opinions were not based on personal experience.
I too have kept numerous birds for well over 30 years, including Yellow Napes, Double Yellow Heads, African Greys, Blue and Gold Macaw, Alexander Ringnecked Parakeet, Cockatiels, Budgerigars, and numerous...
What kind of Anemone's?
Bigger is always better on the tank. With that said, my almost 10 year old LTA spent the first 6 years of his life in a 20 long with a single 65watt compact flourescent strip light, a fluval 104 cannister filter and a minijet powerhead.
LTA's want sand for a substrate...
See Rich, I remembered my city!
I tried this once before with no luck. But since we have so many bird people active lately....
I have a male cockatiel, approximately 20 years old that needs attention. He was adopted for my daughter about 10 years ago, but she is allergic to him and cannot keep...
I was waiting for Wendy to chime in hoping she had owned one.
I haven't owned one either, but I have the same impression of parrotlets as Wendy does.
I'd stick with a parakeet or a cockatiel.
I think most of us go with relatively cheap and easy nitrate kits.
I have a Salifert. Once a tank is established I rarely check nitrates. Only if something unusual starts to happen.
