Donate to school tank: East Side H.S. Newark, NJ 07105

Sorry my timer, jugs and rubble didn't make it to the meeting today. We'll have to make other arrangements. I was called on to make a hospital visit and couldn't get back in time.

    Transfer sandbed or not?

I think age and depth are the key. How deep and how old is the sandbed you are considering moving? The younger and more shallow the better. If you move a sandbed I would save some water discarded from water changes and give it a real good rinse as well.

    Jose's 45 Starfire Tank

Good luck Jose, the president of "The Upgrade of the Month Club." If memory serves in less than a year since you started scaling down, you've started a new tank and upgraded twice already! :o Face it, you're addicted! Just bite the bullet and go for a monster tank next! ;D Anyway, seriously...

Opinions on new product - 1" SQWD

Sounds like some good imporvements, but I don't think they justify the amount of the price increase unless the amount of flow reduction has decreased dramatically as well. They have a good chart for flow losses with the 3/4" model on their site, but I couldn't even find a mention of the 1"...

    goldfish

Either treat the tap water or aerate it for a couple of days. You can use RO if you replenish some of the missing minerals. Kent makes a product called R/O Right that I have used. (And will be using again soon as I will soon have a freshwater tank again. Don't tell Phyl!)

    Pygmy Angel

I have a Reeftopia Pygmy in my 55 for alnost 2 years. No problems with coral, eats fine, will not eliminate all of your hair algae, however. I have some that grows on my HOB fuge overflow that he never touches. All in all a great little fish.

What do you think of this light??

AquaTraders is no better. Buy Odyssea from an authorized dealer, not from AquaTraders. their warranty does not cover free items and shipping back to them is expensive unless you have a business account with UPS. If you have a problem, AquaTraders is almost impossible to get in contact with. I...

I have some 2.5 gallon jugs I can donate, with handles. Should be even easier to carry.

    My 75g Already in Progress!

The bubble was about half that size when I got it. It doubled in a year. Unfortunately it's been mugged recently by the plate and a hammer and barely inflates. I posted the plate for sale today as a matter of fact. You can find it HERE

    HELP Chiller LEAK

I'm chiller illiterate but I'm wondering if it might be condensation from the cooling unit. Is there a missing pan or something that should go underneath?

    Mollie babies

If you're coming to the March meeting Rev, I might give them a crack at some hair algae in my 55. I only have 2 fish in there at the moment.

    Here's my Big Office System

Re: Here's my 120 Sorry for the loss Bax. We have a 14 year old springer/lab mix and I dread the day she goes. When I had my bypass surgery a few years ago, she never left my side until I was fully recovered.

Donate to school tank: East Side H.S. Newark, NJ 07105

I would love to help, but not sure you would let me. Had I not moved to Hillside I would have been a West Side kid! ;D I have a timer and some rubble. How about a bucket of salt? Depending on the time and day, I would like to come in and help if possible. I don't have any leathers to part...

So Aggrevated! Thinking about going Bare Bottomed!

How long has the tank been setup? Both my displays went through multiple small cyano outbreaks in the first six months. And after that it never returned. I also had a huge dinoflagellate problem in my softie tank. If you stick to the good practices, eventually things will stabilize.

35x water turnover rate too much?

I would get a small maxijet and put it on a timer to create a surge. Point in at the Koralia and run it intermittently. For my 75 that is dominated by frogspawns and hammers, I have a mag 7 return and 2 MJ1200's. I run the maxijets from an aquacontroller. I time one for 1 minute on and 3...
