Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
GTA is the bane of my youth group. 12 and 13 year old kids think it's perfectly OK to bring to church and play. ::)
Yes Phil, there are still Risk players out there! I don't play often but my son and his college friends play it as a break from World of Warcraft.
My 23 year old daughter is into...
Funny, I was going to take some shots of the 75 to capture it's last days before it moves to the 180.
However, the gaming thread led me astray! ;D I'll try to get to it this weekend.
Now you've done it! I have to get those drivers. "Work work" was stuck in my mind when I decided to find the old CD's buried in my son's room.
He keeps trying to hook me on World of Warcraft. I'm pretty sure if I gave that a try the fish and corals would die, I'd get kicked outta church and...
So this thread has made me nostalgic.
After I failed to get Warcraft II working, the 7 year old laptop was still too modern and was yacking about a VESA driver, I installed Diablo. Can't wait to get home and butcher the Butcher!
And no I won't be heading to battle.net.
All those young online...
Well I was holding back because I didn't want to saddle anyone with the impossible task of saying something else nice about me, but I don't want Phil to feel neglected.
I have always admired the enthusiasm and willingness you have had to get your hands dirty helping with club business. :D
BTW...
No room to move the door unless I move the furnace.
If bracing becomes necessary it will have to be simple columns without the fancy sump shelf.
I guess the bracing would be something like a double 2x8 header supported by columns. What would the column spacing be? Would I only need to add the...
Ah... pursuit of the ultimate skimmer. It's right up there with the quest for the Holy Grail and the search for the fountain of youth! ;D
I haven't seen a 250 pro, but I've had a 200NW that I had to exchange for a 150NW due to size limitations.
Both arrived in great shape and I am very happy...
Thanks for the offer my architect friend! ;)
The spongy floor is in the family room. The floor in the living room is rock solid so far.
A cleverly designed support in the new location would put my sump right in front of my furnace room doorway. It's a great idea though.
I'll check the joist...
I was using Salifert, but since they have had significant quality problems with this particular test I have been trying others.
Currently I use Sera for routine tests. It is quick and easy and gets you in the ballpark. When I am concerned about the results because they are near my desired upper...
Thanks Phyl and thanks Mike.
That's the word I was looking for! The tank sits right along the girder.
Went looking at furniture and carpet is next. We had some shakey moments this weekend but I think we are set with living room being the tank room! :D
Thanks Phyl. I thought yours was on the carpet. I didn't know if that had a negative impact on stability. I was concerned about leaving a bare spot as well.
Did you brace the floor?
Some questions for the big tank folks.
Since staying in the living area requires re-carpeting, do I carpet the whole floor and put the tank on top of the carpet? Or is it better to have the stand on the sub-floor and carpet around the stand?
I did't think about floor supports. The tank is...
