my tank isn't that old and i can see red starting to go everywhere on the base rock i bought.. I did the same as you. give it a little time.. make sure your mag and calc levels are good and it will grow like crazy. sometimes it takes a while then BOOM it's all over the place

WE need a Gasp smiley... what bulbs are you using? did you catch the Lumenbright thread on RC? they concluded anything much under 16" bulb height from the water was overkill and possibly dangerous. Marc (melev) has a great page on the PAR reading before and after the lumenbrights and rivaled...

that is good news after all that.. depending on power strips i might lean towards tossing them.. as for the pump and light let them dry out real good and then check them. if your stand had poly on it then you shouldnt have a problem with it. good luck and were all glad you thought about this...

12k's are going to be more blue than the white.. and most 12k bulbs have a break in period around 100hrs where they will look a little dull

we are skimmin on the 55.. not the greatest skimmer by any means. But for $30 i have invested it's better than nothing at the moment.. also what would be a proper size sump for the 55? i see alot of smaller mag drives for sale. might as well stock pile goods for this tank since it's "Hers" ;D

buying stuff is on hold since Hidden Reef is having their sale the 22nd so i might as well catch a break on what i need.. I have those 72" VHO's.. would the ICE Cap 660 ballast work for these or do i need one to each light? I was thinking of a sunlight bulb also since the MH's are going to...

as long as it is submerged there shouldn't be a problem.. I was actually thinking the same thing on my big tank.. just put it below the the lowest level your overflow can go down to so it will stay submerged

i think the consensus was with the frag swap hopefully everyone got their share and we would wait and start something mid DEC for the January group buy
