I go to both Trop and OG II. I find them both good really. The display tanks at trop are huge, but they keep the fish in good shape and have good collection. OG has decent fish as well and they know their stuff.

How big is your tank?

Interesting. I have a canopy as well as a sump. I want to install a fan in canopy to cool it. I have T5 lighting on 150 gallon tank. To fit a computer fan I need to cut out a hole in the canopy I am guessing?

My PH is around 8 and the alkalinity is 10. I was thinking to use Seachem Marine buffer for buffering the PH. Any inputs if it works or not? Any negatives of using it?

The carbon filters are mostly universal. I am not sure about others. I would go to lowes and pick up a filter for RO/DI unit (Lowes sells them). The cost is like ~ $8. I tried it in my RO unit and it fits perfect and works great. I am sure they have other filters as well. Just my $.002. Good...

I was at my LFS yesterday and was looking to get one of the LTA. However they discouraged me saying that these are hard to keep? They said that they may harm corals and if they de in the tank, they can destroy everything? Is this true?

Yes the lights were on in the fuge for 12 hrs a day. I thought the microalgae needs it. I turned them off now. The hair algae is only in the fuge so far, nothing in DT yet. Should I put snails in the fuge?
