    Dangerdave’s reef

I hooked up a spare DOS to automate feeding Nyos chromys, and spread it throughout the day. It’s been going for a day, and so far so good. I’m mostly worried about clogging, so I guess I’ll have a better idea after a couple days.

    92g Corner Build

I like it! I have a soft spot for corner tanks, my first large tank as an adult was a corner tank.

    Dangerdave’s reef

I bought it from granger. They have a location down the road from my office. They are fda approved containers for bulk food.

    Dangerdave’s reef

I'm going to have about 75 gallons of water in there. It would hold more, but my plan will put the water about 16 inches deep. Once this is set up, I'll have it ready to add two more frag tanks. That will be another 100 gallons. I should end up with about 400 gallons of water total across...

biocube & keep healthy Copepod population

I don't do anything for copepods. I seeded them well over a year ago, and they're everywhere. I think they'd survive just fine with someplace to hide (your rock), and leftover food and detritus.

So I got this bin to serve as a sump to support the upcoming frag tanks. This will sit under 2 frag tanks, and be plumbed into the current system.

    DIY Sump

If you're using a controller, you can program around the water level for skimmer for additional piece of mind. My skimmer turns off when the return is off. It turns back on 5 minutes after the return has resumed operating. That said, this is a good idea. Dave

    DIY Sump

I like having decent enough sized sized space if you need to work in there.

You don’t get to pick what takes your lure. What happens when you catch something out of season, or too small?

    Large Skimmer

Anyone looking to sell a large skimmer? I’m going to be buying a new one soon and finding a good used one would be great. I’m looking for something that can support 400-500 gallons at heavy load. Let me know what you have. Thanks! :)

    RO/DI Storage Heater?

If you ever move to automated water changes, say with an apex dos, you can skip the heating altogether since it’s small amounts spread throughout the day.

    RO/DI Storage Heater?

But if you’re doing BIG water changes, I can see how it could be an issue.

    RO/DI Storage Heater?

Are you doing giant water changes? Once mixed fully, I don’t touch it. No heat, no power heads, nothing. I have a friend who does both, and has a precipitation issue. I have a tiny bit, but it’s accrued over a year and a half. I don’t think I’ll have to clean this thing for a few more years.
