Hey Chaoscat - Sorry to hear you are moving, it was good catching up with you at meetings up north here. Let us know if you ever move towards LED lighting as you envisioned someday. Hats off to you for taking the large step needed to find a better place for work. I have been in a rut myself...

Can anyone share their charting tool for testing etc?

Can anyone share the tool they feel is effective for charting testing, water changes etc? (or at least a link to where they are available) I designed one in excel a couple years ago, but I know there are better ones out there and didn't want to spend a lot time recreating another. Thanks!

Keep 'em but Don't Eat 'em!!!

'Just about everyone from the Carribean has had it'. It's sounds a lot more common then 50,000 cases. It's a little like Lyme Disease, except for the vomiting and is probably just as badly under reported as they mentioned.

Now we know why we have to take our cars back to the shop for a second time

Hey - that's Bill working on my SUV! LOL It is scary isn't it. He should have a shop uniform on for the free 'plug' (no bun intended!)

    How long without aeration?

Thanks Phil! - Very timely response! I read your note before lunch and decided not to take the 45 emergency ride commute ride. All was fine, much to my releif. Thanks Wendy - My bioload is currently very light for a 75g/40g sump system. 5 chromis, Royal Gramma and a tiny Ocellaris clown. I did...

    How long without aeration?

Hi all - I was doing some late night plumbing and screwed up a bulkhead seal. The result is I had to shut down my sump and return line to the display. In the mad scramble to stop the leak and insure the heaters were okay and all, I forgot to provide aeration but pointing my powerhead to the...

Wow - looks like that was one heck of a party! (with musical entertainment included! ;D) Sorry I couldn't visit as I planned Phyl and John. I worked WAY too many hours this week and had pick up slack and watch the kids while battling exhaustion.

I wanna host! I wanna host gosh darn it! :)

LOL Bill. I have to admit I will have serious inclinations about putting some more volume in my home when the day comes that I visit Sandee's place. (and I'm sure John and Phyl's this weekend!) By the way Sandee, I just checked out your site for the first time. Very cool...I see you have...

Feeding anenomes - Not taking dried shrimp

Thanks all. Very helpful! It is <bleeping> cool to watch them eat. If I do feed it at all, it will very sparingly with mysis or small krill as I wouldn't want to grow in spurts. Overall, I do have a very light load of nutrient sources, but I was thinking about getting some BIGGER fish soon. It...

Feeding anenomes - Not taking dried shrimp

What does everyone feed their RBTAs? I adopted one a couple weeks ago and was told he was eating whole dried shrimp, but he only takes it for a few minutes and then releases it. I don't feel like buying things like silversides if i doesn't take them Thx

    Pressure Locking Baffles

Hey Ralph/Dan - Inspiring technique! I have been thinking (for far too long) about how I could install in partial baffle over one that installed without teeth to help screen out macroagae and etc. I didn't feel like shutting the sump down for too long. This may just work. Thanks!

    Timers!

Rarena - That timer from Aquacave looks like a good product. How long have you been using it? I like their shipping arrangement as well. I am so annoyed when places hammer us with $10-$15 on less then a 1lb box, regardless if you are buying $10 or $200 worth of stuff.

Attn: Prec. Marine Kalk reactor users: could use some advice

Thanks Bruce. I will add a valve. Will the back pressure on the aqualifter cause any issues? (if this is your RO supply method) If not, these pumps are pretty amazing for the $10 price. That makes me nervous in and of itself! I can add one other thing. Once I slowed myself down for a change and...
