Why not replace with new hot water heater with power vent like the old one? If you have no chimney that seems best. Tank less hot water heaters are not as efficient as you may think they are. I don't know if home depot carries power vent heaters. Here is a link to A.O. Smith...
Lawnmower is funny but can't be real. I 40 lb lawnmower can't drag a 170lb man. Why would he hold on. The slide has already been posted and proven a hoax.
Great information in the article. The lowering of ph that is described is a good short term fix. You still need to find the root of the problem. As long as the instruments are reading accurate something is driving up the ph. Could there be something dissolving in the tank. I read that some...
Is your probe old? Did you calibrate it? Have you checked the ph of your salt mix before you add it to the tank when you do a change. What is that ph reading? Did you test the source water you are mixing with? What is the source water ph reading?
I mounted a mag pump externally. I really can't say if it reduced heat because it was never run with the mag in the sump. But the pump does work mounted externally. They say you can use them either way.
I went bare bottom for 15 years. I always hated the look of that. I recently went to fine aragonite sand a year ago. I bought the sand about 5 years ago. That famous South Down Playsand from HOME DEPOT. I introduced it to my tank about a year ago. I love it. I went deep sand bed with it. No...
I wish that lowering ph was a problem for me. Sounds like to me that things are happening too fast. What trace elements are you adding to the tank? Why are your nitrates so high with such little livestock? Are you overfeeding?
Does anybody agree with that? How about the abrupt changes in water chemistry on your livestock. If you are just talking water quality and not including impact on your livestock than what is stated may be accurate. I am no chemist but any little adjustment I make to my tank and I now there is...
24 hrs minimum. I always have mix prepped for emergencies. I always keep top off water in reserve. I do get a whitish brown residue on the bottom of my containers after a while. I clean it out every couple of weeks or three. Don't seem to affect anything I just don't like the way it looks in...
Here is a reference to flow control valves. Ignore the pneumatic or hydraulic references. These valves all come manual as well. they also come in many different sizes. Even the sizes we use.
These valves are recommended because they work best to control flow. You will notice that there is a...
I am a pipefitter for 33 years. I have never used a gate valve to control anything except on and off. That is why I asked the question of why you thought it was a better choice of valve.
Gate valves are not a more precise valve. In my trade you are more likely to install a ball type valve for...
