Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We used zip ties and screwed them to the plywood. You have to do it in such a way that you can get it out though so that you can move it to make changes to the program.
They are a coral. They're not aptasia nor sun corals nor galaxia corals. They are quite common on gulf rock. I have some in my tank though I've never noticed them to be the type of corals that "takes over the tank". I've had them for 4 years and they haven't changed a whole lot. They were ID'd...
Every picture has a chance of winning (especially since there's only one submitted so far for this month)! You never know which picture folks are going to gravitate towards!
The tank (and pictures) looks great
Tang, I moved your post into the current year's thread. Please also make sure to RSVP HERE so that we can keep the counts current on the home page (I REALLY don't miss the days of manually keeping track in the thread of everyone who said they were coming!)
It is actually a > 1:1 macro of the oxy from last month's POTM. The closer perspective shows a lot more of the green under the red that you don't see from a full shot.
If anyone is interested in a green BTA, I have 2 of them I can sell/bring to the meeting. One is on the smaller side, the other one medium. Both clones of long standing tank raised anemones. 15 for the smaller one and 20 for the medium one. Will accept trades of SPS.
Excellent news, Mike. Glad to hear that straightened out the results for you.
I'd be interested in the test results when you guys are able to get together. Bob, if you happen to be going to the January meeting, I can bring the test kit up and we can test Renee's water :)
True. Even when I had high PO4 in my 180 I didn't have HA. What's the difference? Might be the tang, might be the 200 turbos I throw in at least once a year. I know that when the turbos in my 65 got depleted we ended up with severe HA in there (much harder to keep a CUC in there with my stocking...
Mike, are you letting the water run for a few minutes before taking your sample? What are you collecting your water in for testing?
J, while I'd agree that the .23 might not be detected on normal test kits, that level of PO4 coming out of the RO/DI would be of big concern to me too. When...
How much water have you run through? Is there a "burn in" period? If the TDS is 0, how can you have PO4 to those levels in your water? That just doesn't make much sense to me...
