Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Hard to believe that perfection can result in tragedy. By the looks of your numbers alone, everything looks spot on to me (except for the fact that I'm ORP ignorant). Brown jelly taking out your SPS? Do you have a picture of what it looks like in progress? Any families in particular?
Growth pattern is completely different, from what I can tell.
Yours looks more like an aculeus to me. The real key is in the corelites. Look at the way the polyps come out of yours, and the way the tips seem elongated, much unlike the stubby tips of the one in the picture.
And yeah, I'd take...
But isn't it more the delta rather than the number (obviously within reason) that really matters? Does it matter so much if it is off .0007 in one direction or the other if the delta over time is reasonable?
Did you happen to check the RO/DI against the solution when you calibrated said...
That one side can't possibly mean 36 percent (his initial post did say 37, but on further review the judges settled in at 36) or it wouldn't work out to a .068% difference between the two numbers. That number represents "Practical Salinity Units" which doesn't appear to be based in percentages...
Carlo, I'm thinking you must have misread John's post. We're looking at a difference of .0007 (which ironically works out to be a .068% difference). Not enough, IMHO to even worry about. I'm sure my tank varies that much over the course of the day via evap! Turns out "calibrated" we'll actually...
Mg could use to be up a hair and NO3 down a bit, but otherwise your numbers look great. What's your PH run? If your PH is good, then you either need to feed more or light more (or ... ?!? <- whatever that is!).
Has it lost color since you've had it (it looks to me like this has happened)? That would indicate to me that you've got it a bit too high in the tank. If it hasn't changed in color then I'd leave it where it is. As Dave indicated, a little verticle will help it scroll faster, but I've found...
