I kinda miss them, good luck with them :) I have a big empty spot in the tank I have to fill now ::) How about another order Greg :P
Still need to get this
sorry to hear Greg, wish I could have warned you sooner :( as long as the whole thing doesn't turn white it should be ok, if you notice the white area spreading put it in strong flow, that sometimes helps.
PS
don't forget to run carbon ;)
There was a guy on ebay selling them for as much as $40. ea. he started the actions at $9.99 and people were bidding on them. Don't kill them sell them ;D
They would be good for a fish only tank ::)
Mike, you should get a year maybe a month longer out of the reeflux 12k's, Mine will be a year old March 2nd and as long as I don't see a change in the tank I plan on pushing them till the end of March.
Dave,
Having a temp swing of 4-5 degrees from day to night is better for coral than keeping at a steady temp. If anything happens with the temp, corals that are allready adjusted to the 4-5 degree swing can withstand a higher spike (every once in awhile) than a coral that is kept at a constant...
I have a chance to send some corals to Tyree for ID and possible naming, the first step is I need 3 pic's of each taken. The pic's I need are 1 pic of the whole colony 2 close up of coralite (skin) 3 polyp close up. I can't take the pic's cause I don't have a macro lens. Is anyone with a macro...
LOL... eric remember the white urchin I have...he used to pick up things all the time like snails, frags and even a clam. He'd walk around the tank with them on it's back. But after the clam, he now lives in the sump :)
The Phoenix bulbs are better than Ushio's, IMO stick with them, your growth will slow with the 20K's. I know a lot of people that have Phoenix 14k's and they have great color and growth, you might loose that with the Ushio bulbs. I wish Phoenix made them in a SE bulb :-\
Never fed any of my clams either, the only thing I do add to the tank is Marine snow once a week when I remember ::) And I have 1" maxima's and larger clams, 8 in total.
PS
good luck with the new clam, lets see a pic :)
Wendy, He's the reason I used all T5's on my old tank :), unfortunately it was not something I could continue doing since 12 bulbs at $25 a bulb is $300 + a year and that is also when I had 13 tanks setup ::).
I am all for T5's, always have been. When I started consolidating tanks is when I...
