Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
it's not a brick and mortar place. By all means stop by - it's a garage based on what joe said. Again I'm all in favor of SEEING my purchases before paying.
Disagree. I run two clownfish fry tanks with no lr, no sponge. Daily water changes are fine. Granted if I skip a day I increase the water change amount. But I've got rotifers, baby brine shrimp, fry - all pooping, dying, etc. The mass is far greater then a single slow moving angler.
A fish can...
don't use the net - that will only catch the unpopped ones. You're better off using a siphon to siphon up the ones you pop and scrap off.
It's beatable - you just have to keep at it. I got some from a former vendor on here and everytime I did a water change I would remove the LR and scrape the...
Oh and I also agree with qwik and jrwohler. With so many excellent LFS resources in NJ - I am (especially reading threads like this) disinclined to using online places for livestock.
Sorry to hear about this...
But the old adage of fool me once shame on you. fool me twice - well shame on you for dealing with this guy.
Everyone should just stay far far away from this seller.
the thing isn't designed well for saltwater. It starts to cramp up and mine broke in less than 6 months use. The stupid thing leaked water all over the place if you are not careful with that spout on the handle. Wasted money but what are our alternatives right?
you would take the hose and attach it to the waste collector. The thing is designed to be placed outside the sump but you could put it in your sump and there would be no risk of the waste going back into the display.
The acrylic container is interesting but i'm concerned that if you open the...
if you have the cash - maybe you could find one of these:

I use an MRC2 Collector. Basically if the skimmer goes crazy by accident and fills the thing up - the air is cut-off and the skimmer stops skimming. This prevents any kind of flood.
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Sorry I had to laugh when I read this....
Dang on the shark-nose. I am surprised you even found them given how big they are and what they'd probably be like shriveled up.
Your corals look so fantastic. Great mature tank. Is that a chalice in...
i dunno - i had a REALLY hard time with that stuff. If you can borrow the tools from someone - that would be best. Heck i wish the club had them to loan around...lol.
This was my attempt at a "FTS" a week ago:
I lost quite a few between then and now - I really don't understand how I lost fry after day 3. I guess I was really really lucky on the first batch - or this time around I should have been more careful dosing phyto.
Anyways - the good news is that...
Wow that is a great update.
Sorry I didn't see the post on manny earlier - With regards to fish like the mandarin - I would suggest (in the future) breaking from the QT and consider adding the fish in directly. As i understand it, the mandarin has a unique slimy coat (no scales) on it's body...
Take a small drill bit and drill right into the top cover. The cord for the water is easily removable and you slid it right thru. The pump itself is connected to a $2 radio shack wire thingy. Get a screw driver and unscrew that - take the wires out and then voila you can thread that wire right...
you try raising a family.
a family of baby clownfish that is! ;)
All they do is want you to clean the tank every day and feed them every day. Like I've got a green thumb with rotifers and brine shrimp or something!
Congrats! They should have a registry and OGII/AqOb. ;)
Though I'm sure the other half probably prefers crate and barrel or something or other. Decisions decisions...
Speaking of which -The container store. Been there. It's more like a giant store for various ways to store your clothes/help...
lol - well i am glad to see everyone loves their product. I thought there would be folks who could chime in on maxi-mods or enductors (not sure if i spelled that right).
that is a really tight space to use.
A 5 gallon salt bucket is 12 inches diameter. I would think you need at least that much room to handle 5 gallons.
You could conceivably have it custom made I guess.
I dunno - I'm just bummed I responded to the tunze package too late. hahah!
Magnets come with all the new tunze streams.
But you are not comparing apples to apples.
mp40 = a tunze 6105
The 7096 wavecontroller is totally different from what I understand the vortech controller does.
With my 7096 I can:
Sequentially launch my pumps one after the other
Interval - so...
I guess i'll offer the yes to the shark but with caveats:
my 2 cents: A 220 for an animal that barely moves around off the bottom of a tank seems fine as long as you have suitable substrate for the belly of the shark (and your tank isn't a fruitstand of LR with a small patch of sandbed). That...
