If you're going to be investing any serious amount of money in insurance you can use a Crummey Trust to pay for the insurance and allow the money to be a tax deduction now and a no tax insurance benefit later.

What kind of salt are you using? With Reef Crystals we tend to have an alk of around 4 (11.2 dkh) but a low side of PH of around 8. A change in salt may help a little. Billy has good alk & ph readings with Tropic Marin Pro.

I have the Nikkor 105 and love it. Merv has the 60 and the 105 and prefers the 60 over the 105. I think Steve68 has the Sigma 105 (and he seems to take some great photos with it)!

Our new tank is plumbed into our main system. The rock and animals came out and went into other parts of the system on day 1. Sand also came out that day and sat in buckets "wet", but not circulating or in the main system. Day 2 the tank was setup. Day 3 the rock and sand went back in, and the...

That was my main motivation too. Way too many blown shots of the kids as they spin away out of the camera zone before I can get the shot off!

Merv, we switched to TM and didn't see any benefit to it at all. We're trying Pro now to see if that helps with the alk/pH issues we see with RC.
