Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
You are a forum member...... and that's free.
If you pay a yearly membership fee of (I think) $12 for a single, it opens up additional forums, including a sales forum.
Have to agree with Joe (@horseplay ).....anemones are for established tanks....at least a year old. At this point just keep an eye on it and feed it occasionally. If large enough, silversides, if not, mysis will do/
The second pump I had, the tubing was just fine, so the pump is in!
I simply used the vodka bottle as the DIY NOPOX reservoir. And FYI, I believe this is Art's formula of 375 mls vodka, 125 RO/DI water and 500 mls of vinegar. I know others use a DIY formula of 1 part vodka to 2 parts...
Bob, if the hose fits, you're welcome to how many feet you want. However, the 1.6 ml dosing pump from BRS (Drew's Doser), appears to take a different hose. Here's that hose:
The common failure to peristaltic pumps are stripping of the gears. I haven't opened up any of these pumps, but I'm...
Between my son and I, we own six BRS 1.1 ml dosing pumps....great pumps. I also love BRS....spend more money there than I want to. Now I recently needed to replace two dosing pump rubber hoses. BRS has them for $12.99 each.
I come from the chemical industry where we used rubber hose...
Sunny, I primed it, lubed it, stroked it, and rubbed it...........and then I looked at the pump, and realized the tubing was shot.:D. These are old pumps that were used for two part and taken down and never cleaned. I'm working on a fix right now....give me a little more time...
Thanks once again Bob, your information looks like it's really going to save me. I hooked up the pump and it didn't work. Let me restate....the peristaltic part turned, but no fluid passed through the pump. To put it yet a third way, the rubber tubing was shot. I'm looking for a fix other...
Yep, still plenty left, but most big ones gone. I'm looking and you're from Berlin, NJ....like 1 hour and 30 away....is it worth it??
Mike, I had a blast....didn't get done what I wanted to get done, but that's ok, because I enjoyed the visit. My wife looked at me funny too when see came...
Looking good Jeremy......a couple comments......
Tank level. Is it the angle of the picture or is that tank not level. The water level on the left appears to be lower that the water level on the right. Even if not level, your overall water level is low enough, so it shouldn't be an issue...
Only two clowns in that size tank.....assuming they are mated. If you put in four, it would eventually be two anyway. Remember, clowns are damsels...the meanest fish, pound for pound.
Thanks Mark, Bob, saltkreep and Art.
Mark, certainly natural rubber formulations and some synthetic polymers of rubber are easily and readily attacked by acids, and disintegrate. And where are you buying 20%...at an ag store? The food variety is only 5%, and many ag stores regulate the...
I've been manually dosing a DIY version of NOPOX and just picked up a BRS 1.1 pump to automate the additions. As I'm looking at this pump, I'm now wondering what the vinegar would do to the rubber tubing portion. Anyone using a peristaltic pump to dose vinegar or NOPOX? And what's your...
I would say NO....unless he's also building two, or maybe three other tanks......I see at least two if not three other tanks being built in that picture. Now, it's also sitting on a Coast to Coast work table, so I think it might be a fair bet that Coast to Coast is building the tank. But...
I just went on Costco's website and don't see my cartridges.....black and color are Canon PG-245 and CL-246, respectively.
However, I also went on eBay and just purchased a refill kit for $13.49. I understand I can get away with refilling 4 or 5 times before the cartridges craps out...
I have a Canon inkjet printer......a PIXMA MG2520. I need to purchase new ink cartridges. I can get the black and color cartridge for $34. That's thirtyfour dollars.
Now the other option is that I can throw this printer away and buy a whole new printer (that comes with the ink...
Ouch! Sorry to hear. A good friend slipped on the last step of her cellar stairs just before Christmas, and ended up having to get her ankle pinned and screwed. Just had the ankle support taken off last week. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
