on the last post he mentions rinsing them until the water runs clear - do not burst the eggs. Good luck!
bristle worms are pretty efficient. Forget the hermits - in my opinion the best scavenger is the nassarius snail. Faster and help to turn the sandbed (if you have one).
At that size tank there should not be any impact to your tank params. The tang is a messy eater and it's death will temp spike...
my tunzes blow the sand everywhere...making a mess. Stupid sand has iron elements in them too causing them to stick to the magnets.
That stated - I love my jawfish - such great personalities. I have the sand in there pretty much for them.
Oh and being able to keep wrasses is also a nice plus...
it's a long shot but maybe OGII knows others who had the issue with the clowns and has an idea how to help. I dunno - but was thinking maybe the place you got the clowns from might help. Worth a shot.
Then again - when it comes to tank-raised clowns - sometimes you never know if the fish is...
I got this in our GB -
http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1TYPHOONIII/TYPHOON_III_AQUARIUM_RO_DI_75_or_100_GPD.html
It has the fast-flush option ($10 value), TDS Meter ($20 value), DI bypass and RO only port...also the free shipping and NJRC/GB discount made it a great deal all around...
Lots of people run ATOs. I have been running with a tunze since 2004 (on my old 55 gallon). The pump failed once and it was replaced. Other than that the sensors/equipment has been fine. I am using a tunze for my 120 now as well. The main downside is the price point. I've gone away on vacation...
Boomer thanks for your comments as always. This statement above made me fall of the chair laughing. I moved to NJ 3 years ago and was spoiled by Manhattan tap water. Holy cow the water here (Metuchen) is awful.
For the record - mangroves should not be compared with "macros". Mangroves are neat and cool but they should not be considered something that can pull nutrients out at the level of say cheato or caulpera.
aren't they really small? Depending on the size - the fish could be viewed as a snack.
you could get them cheaper here:

only concern i have is if the 2" clown has already started down the path of becoming female. Prob not but I have no idea how to gender-identify clowns. I think the fact that yours has been with you for 9 years with no others makes it hard for her to share. Give it time.
