    can i get a clam?

ILC is getting 200 clams in today/tomorrow. I'd go cherry pick from there! I had my numbers wrong. It will be 30 boxes of corals in addition to the 200 clams! WOW! :o

My new 10g w/pics. Thanks to you all.

It looks great. The rock you got is really nice looking. Enjoy! What fish are you going to go with?

    Salt dip?

I think a quick salt dip is a good idea, especially if the rock is coming from Florida. NJRC just did a LR Group Buy (3.50/# for premium rock) so a bunch of us are curing now. We may dip ours before we put it into our tank. I'm not anxious to add any more "unwanteds" to my tank. Being able to...

    How to frag an Echino?

The videos must have fallen off of my server. I'll dig them up and put them back tomorrow. Here's the thread they were in: http://www.njreefers.org/forums/index.php/topic,460.msg2962.html#msg2962

    How to frag an Echino?

Yup. That's what you need to do. There's a video of Sharks doing that around somewhere and some pics of RichT too in another spot. Just cut the rock side down, not the flesh side. If the saw doesn't make it through the flesh use a chisel and then a blade to cut the flesh. If you still haven't...

    How to frag an Echino?

When I cut them I use a dremel from the under side and cut through to the top. Mine weren't encrusted on rock though. It will either have to be chipped from the rock, or dremeled through the top and a chisel used to break the rock. If you have a wet saw you could use that to cut through the rock...

    sump in basement Help

Unfortunately if one of the tanks overflows you'll burn 2 pumps in the process. A clear case of damned if you do and damned if you don't, I'm afraid!

    sump in basement Help

Oh, that drain line looks like it goes into the frag tank. What's your thinking on having the frag tank on a second pump? I wonder if there's a potential downside to the system using 2 pumps (other than the obvious cost of electricity)... Anyone have any thoughts on feeding the skimmer off of...

    Shallow Frag Tanks?

Personally, I take abysmal top down shots. After having to use a "top down" approach to photography for over a year now we're looking to replace the stock tank with an official frag tank that you can see through.

    sump in basement Help

If all you need upstairs is 600g (1 overflow) then theoretically that pump will be enough... depending on the number of Ts and angles actually needed for implementation. If you have the 18 already then you're not losing anything by trying. I don't know how I feel about the "main" display...

    Incoming!!

Welcome back! Sounds like a great plan to build on your parents lot (though I couldn't be that close to my ILs, lol). I love the floor drain idea (but the tank should be a 180, a 120 just isn't long enough, says the owner of said 120 :) ). You'll find lots of folks willing to help around here...

    OT: What a night

Oh my! I can't believe how brave(?) you were to have pulled those explosives out of the fire. Good luck getting it all resolved. Glad to hear that everyone is alright and that the fire was stopped before it could take the house with it. And do tell? What, outside in the cold of night, caused a...

    Plumbing question

Adding extra bends would be worse than doing 1", I would think. I'd skip the 1.5 and use 1".
