Well i got my skimmer today and i've been searching the net for information regarding how high the water level in the sump needs to be. Does anyone have any ideas on how high the water level needs to be for this skimmer. I'm guessing 8-10". Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Harry

I picked up my skimmer today. Holy crap what a beast. it looks so big now that i have it. the ASM G4+ is probably a little oversized for a 215 but I didn't want to regret it later and have to purchase a bigger skimmer so i went as big as i could fit under my stand. I'll post picks tomorrow Harry

I'm amazed that Marco rocks would smell worse than fresh picked rock. I thought the fresh rock would be worse. Harry

interesting find not sure whether it's a good or bad thing. Does it look like it harmed anything in your tank? Harry

I'm in the process of curing about 150lbs of live rock now. I didn't really have that much smell at all. If first you remove most of the dead or decaying life on the rock you can greatly reduce the smell and speed up the curing process. I have no experience with curing dry rock so I can't...

I do have a heater that's the only reason it stayed in high 60's. the heater kept the temp at 68. my house was in the low 50's it's working now and it's 68 degrees in here and the tank is at 76 and slowly moving up. so hopefully everything will be ok. I'm sure i missed a good time. Harry

I apologize to everyone for not making it. The guy just showed up with the part to fix my heat. I was looking forward to meeting everyone. My tanks are down to 68 degrees. I hope everything makes it. Harry

I wrapped a blanket already and also heated hot water in gallon jugs and placed them in the tank. The guy just left he thinks he can get the part so hopefully i can make the meeting in time

I have no heat its 56 degrees in my house waiting for the heating and air people. hopefully it will be fixed in time so i can make the meeting. My tank is down to 73 degrees. sorry Harry

That really sucks, i feel your pain. I had a sailfin tang take a header out of my tank

I love the look of no powerheads also, but at this point without drilling holes in my tank it's unavoidable i think.
