    Nassarius snails ??

I currently have a 2" sand bed with 3 Nassaruis snails. The only time they come out is at feeding time or to lay eggs on my glass. But i think 3-4" is probably perfect Harry

Start of my Oceanic 215 build

Yea Bernie is great. He's the only place i'll ever buy rock from. Very reasonably priced and no shipping because he's local. I might have to make another trip to see him for rock after i use what i have. Harry

Start of my Oceanic 215 build

Well not much going on except that i picked up my return pump this weekend. I went with the Blueline 70D. My new rock is all cured, and I'm still waiting on my sump from Aquariumsforyou.com. It's been about 3 weeks now and i do not have an ETA on when it will be done and i was told they needed...

Switching flow Tunze or Koralia or Seio Thoughts?

I have and use Seios and i love them. I've never had any issues with them and they produce a tremendous amount of flow in a wide path. I don't have any expeience with Koralias or Tunze. But i think everyone will have an opinion either way. good luck in what ever you do Harry

    Another lighting question

It can be done. I have seen it done. On reefcentral some tank of the month winners are strictly using T5's, and their tanks are at least 24-30" tall and most of those tanks are strictly SPS and the colors are amazing with only T5's. It's all a matter of preference. I would keep any SPS on the...

    Custom hood help/ideas

Mike, That's a pretty good idea and i'll keep it in mind, but i'm not sure if i'm good enough to build something like that. I'm pretty handy but that looks a little hard. I was kinda thinking maybe the top will flip open like a lid and the front removed some how. but i have to figure out the...

    Custom hood help/ideas

Hello all, I am in the process of building my new 215 and I'm stuck on the lighting. My tank is 30" tall and if i build a hood it will probably be 18-22" tall and will make it almost impossible to reach and or maintain the lower part of the tank. I can always go with a fixture but at $1000+ i...

    Quarentine Tanks?

I QT everything regardless of where it came from. I've read too many horror stories from people who didn't. This hobby IMO is too expensive not to take precaution as simple as a QT setup. It saves plenty of headaches. In all fairness though you can QT something and still get a nasty but the...

    Bristle Worm ?

Well if it makes anyone feel any better when i first started my tank and bought live rock straight from Fiji. i actually had a eunacid worm that was about 12" long that hitchhiked in. Now that was one ugly worm. It took me a while to get it out. It seriously creeped me out.
