Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
IMO you should always buy a skimmer that is oversized for the tank it will be used on. This will avoid the need to upgrade (unless its a significantly larger upgrade) to a bigger more powerful skimmer at a later date
thanks
Harry
where the corals shipped attached to the live rock you purchased? and also was it in water? If not most of the organic life i.e. corals, anemone will most likely die if not shipped in water. I'm surprised they would ship the rock with all that stuff on it. Maybe the rules within the USA are...
Without actually witnessing the lobster attacking the shrimp it is hard to tell, but from what i have read and understand, Reef lobsters are reef safe to a point but they are opportunistic and can and will sometimes attack something smaller then them.

First let me clarify a few things. I posted the experience that I had with AFY. Mine happened to not be that great. I am well aware that others have had great experiences, but that can be said about any company or product. I dropped off my sump on 3/15 so a new one can be built with a correct...

I agree, MRC makes an excellent external skimmer and that would be my choice if i was using an external, if you decide on an internal i would recommend an ASM or a euroreef. but it all comes down to personal preference

I like to thank everyone who stopped by yesterday to help move my tank into place. I really apprecaited it. Unfortunately i can't due much else because i'm waiting for my sump to be rebuilt. The company i ordered it from made the skimmer section too small. So now it's another month plus of...
ok so 2PM on saturday looks like the time. Let me know who can make it and i will PM my address to them. I really appreciate all the help.
Thanks

I don't know if you should technically feed the refugium. Depending on how many drain lines you have coming in from your display, just let one of them dump into the refugium so it will get all the nutrients from the "dirty water" and the rest of your drain lines can go to your protein skimmer...
Hello all,
Anyone know where i can buy flexible PVC locally? If not i have to order it online and if someone can recommend a retailer that would be great. I would prefer to buy it locally though.
Thanks
Harry
Hell all,
Well i'm finally ready to move my new tank into place and really start the build. My current tank is in the current location so i have to pretty much empty that one out and then move the new tank into place. My new tank only has to move from one side of my foyer to the other. No...
