Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So far they look great. I took a couple pictures last night and then had card-reader malfunction so they're not ready to post yet.
Who ended up winning the 55g tank?

We've got a new clutch of eggs from our Maroon pair that we'd like to try to harvest. This would be our first attempt at rearing the hatchlings, should we manage to time it right and catch them (I don't know what day they went down, I just know that they're already gray). So we'll be keeping our...

Just before you feed turn off all of the flow to the tank. Then blow the cyclopeze on it. About 10m later feed the whole tank heavily and emphesize the lobo. It should open up to take any food in that you sit on it.
The problem that Bill mentioned doesn't have as much to do with the height of the tank as much as it does the ratio between the water volume and the surface area. With tanks marked "tall" the ratio is thrown off. The surface area of the tank is important to the oxygen levels along with the alk...
Did you ever use copper in your tank? Any other meds that you put in there? If you've used either I would toss the rock or find another freshie to sell it to.
The 2007 Group Buy Schedule has been posted in the member's only forum, along with a discussion thread for ideas and suggestions.

I'd just use a mag pump to return the water to the main (or other similar pump). I like to stock to the volume of the display alone (not counting the water in the fuge) because in the event of a power filter the only water the fish have to get oxygen from is in the display.
Stocking is such an...
Another alternative would be to use the eheim to recirc water in the display. Personally we don't use any mechanical filtration. Rock, sand, macro algae (and a skimmer on my bigger tank).
The matching of flow rates is not very practical. It would be very difficult to find a flow that matched *perfectly* and even if you did manage to match it, there's no saying that you wouldn't have something happen to one pump that would cause the contents of one tank to end up emptying onto the...

IME it is going to be cheaper to buy it from Fosters & Smith (they don't charge an upcharge on the freight) and pay the shipping than to buy it locally and pay the high cost of salt from an LFS.
We get TM from F&S.
There's a place in PA that's cheaper than online, but it is a haul to get to...
