Good point a pair of oscars are not exactly going to thrive in that tank.
I do figure on doing little fish most likely salt or fresh, little guy is pretty set on it. Which also means I need to build a stand for him. But will wait till I have a better plan for that. Of course the other option is...
I am more south american guy with cichlids but that might not be a bad idea. The idea is what I was getting at though that I will not need reef lighting.
OK so my son wants a tank in his room. Fresh or saltwater is up for debate at this point.
I have an Aquapod that I used as my QT but now is running with no real use so it could be his.
One thing I HATED about the AQPod is that it has power compacts.
Now I really don't want to spend much on...
+1 on that ..if you have deep water stuff then temp is cooler.
Mine is 76.4 pretty consistant...summer it heads higher but with the LED I only remember a couple days when it was over 80 this year. (When the wife opened all the windows and the house got warmish)
Any fish can be sensitive to change, I got a pair of cardinals from AO that he had for 6M I have yet to see them eat after 2 days. For sure they are healthy and all acclimation was done over the right amount of time. And they are in a 120 G tank with a pair of clowns that are in the opposite...
Great posts George, amazing you can layout everything so cleanly...and at this point I am just talking about the post not the real work.
That is a great design. Nice job all around.
They are definately not olive shells ... first they are more pointed and second while it is possible I have missed that color I have never seen them with those markings. I can bring you some olive shells if you like...long dead.
talk about discoveries...you have a tank for 5 years and you just find something...no wonder we are still finding species around the world like those sharks Dan posted.
I don't want anything for it at all, size of the fuge is not the issue more you need a light that hangs over the fuge. At the moment it is moving towards the light which on my fuge is a clip on. It probably goes about foot out of the water ish.
Anyone have some cheato that is coming to the meeting? I need to rebuild my fuge.
And does anyone want a mangrove tree about a foot tall very spindly ...have had it for a few years grew it from a pod.
Bummer sorry to see you getting out.
And was interesting because it was different.
If you decide to split it I would be interested in the YWG and shrimp..probably could do all the inverts maybe minus the serpent star.
Cool..lived on Hilton Head for a year...the channel between there and Paris Island was chocked full of sharks. Amazing that in this day and age we are still finding new species.
Just stopped in last night.
Great store, everyone was very nice and good conversation. Nice to have another store close and certainly on my list of stores to go to now.
Thanks for everything.
