I had to put up a cheep fence around mine for inspection...cut a hole out of the plastic but no roof. With Irene it blew away so I just never put it back. How about a simple structure with a roof.

Yep I agree with Bian...I had a monti on the lower third of my tank that went really ugly an then after 2 months it came back. I thought I was safe but pretty easy to do.

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone....I really hated to post anything but I needed it like confession or something. Hope my mistake pushes someone to get a battery backup that saves their fish. I am just mad at myself more then anything I hate making mistakes that cost the guys their lives...

Yep a very very good idea...I am either going to do that or go with the Vortech with a battery backup. May be my Christmas gift to myself.

If there is a place you can put the fish room behind the DT in another room for instance that is a great alternative. Ed had that setup which was very nice.

I got a 10k GE unit....found a local guy to install did a great job with some real SOB inspectors. Was a little over 2k which was well below other quotes I got.
