Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
He was selling it cheap in any case....usually LFS will sell rubble cheap generally speaking because people don't want it for their DT.
Just ask him I bet he will hook you up seems like a super nice guy.
I have a starry blenny and he is a fun fish and mine is a good boy. Midas might be a bit more difficult, yellow(like watchman) and might be similar to firefish in its habitat. Bi-color might be a very good choice.
I used some live sand but mine was from my old tank that I had as I used different sand from my nano when I upgraded so worked out well I would personally limit the LR, sand and so on to your fuge section keep it away from pumps and whatnot ... if for no other reason then it is easier to clean...
There was a chicken little feel to parts of it. I mean Shoprite sells more shrimp in a day then we buy in a year.
When it comes to specific specialized habitats like the Bangaii that is another story.
Or worse is the release of animals into habitats not their own.
Reading the article I came away with two pretty opposite feelings.
One is the OMG what are we doing we don't have any right to have a reef tank, sort of Barry's mantra(no offense certainly legit), should I break it down now sort of thing.
The second is that Florida does a pretty decent job of...
Agree...your coverage area is a bit more limited but otherwise no problem, just make sure your SPS are directly under the fixture not out on the edges(front or back)as the par will decrease as you move out from under the fixture.
Waiting to see how many folks are coming, will supply the grilling items, and ice. Figured to keep it simple generally speaking. Thanks for the offer.
GO MEAT!! ;D
I see the bigger problem is the one that Paul has with the two RK...fluctuation in temp is the problem, in particular if your Reef Computer is monitoring and adjusting the temp. I keep one cheapo thermometer and my AC Jr in the tank all the time. I had one of those garbage digital thermometers...
I don't know what kind of paint you can use. I have to say the fact that my sump came with solid nontransparent baffles is a bonus you don't get algae growing in the other chambers. Cheato is the way to go.
I answered some in your tank thread about the mud and light.
Hawk makes good point there is no set way. I admit I love my fuge and wouldn't do it any other way, same cannot totally be said for my DT ::). Not that I don't love my DT but there are some things I would have done slightly...
I started with mud 20lb, sand thin layer, rubble, and cheato.
Mud for me is a ? that I don't think there is an absolute answer for. It works for me. :)
I have 1 mangrove now for fun so came in handy.
+1 for the cheap clipon light. I like a plan grow bulb. If you go for florescent look for a bulb...
