As long as he's still alive then no it's not over yet. There is still the option of force feeding if you think it will work. It is fairly invasive and can be stressful on both you and the fish. It is a last resort and is still not guaranteed to work.

Sorry to hear he's not doing well. You have really put forth a great effort to try and save this animal.

What if you were to hold the food in a pair of tweezers or tongs? He may be able to smell the food to find i, but not have to look around for it. Just throwing out suggestions here as I know force feeding can be strenuous on both you and the fish. Would you happen to know a sympathetic vet? If...

    Annularis popEYE

Just so you know, there is no guarantee this is going to work either. Biggest problem is there can be many causes of popeye so trying to figure which one to treat can be problematic. Usually the cloudiness indicates a bacterial infection though. Trying to determine the bacteria is the tricky...

May I suggest doubling the dosage on the Maracyn 2. I don't think adding Selcon to the water will do anything besides ruin your water quality. Selcon is oil based and will mainly just float on the surface inhibiting gas exchange in the tank. Try tempting him with some live foods or even hand...

I meant the water parameters in the hospital tank. I in no way meant that you had poor water quality in the display tank. The medication will kill off the beneficial bacteria in the LR you are using in the hospital tank leading to water quality issues in that tank. You can move him back to the...

    center brace on 120?

You can take all winter if it'll save you from other chores. I just did mine to get it done. Had all the parts and wanted to get it on before the new one got broken too.

    center brace on 120?

It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do the 55. Most LFS can order you a new top trim. Just give them the dimensions of the tank, it will also help if you know who made the tank (AGA, Perfecto, or Oceanic) so they can match it exactly especially if it is anything other than a black trim.

    center brace on 120?

When I did my 55, I used a sharp knife to cut the silicone from around the top rim both inside and out. The corners is where the silicone is the thickest. After that I carefully pulled the trim up starting at one spot and working around the tank. I can tell you that it doesn't come off easily. I...

Have you checked your water parameters? You should not use live rock or any cycled filter in a hospital tank during treatment. The meds will kill off your bio-filter leading to water quality issues. Instead you should be doing 50% daily water changes to keep the tank from cycling and using and...

    center brace on 120?

Actually the center brace is structural. It holds the top of the tank together. Without it the front a back panes of glass would bow out from the weight of the water. This can/will lead to failure of the silicone seams causing the tank to leak and possibly blow apart over time.

    center brace on 120?

I replaced the top trim on a 55 gallon. I just cut the old one off in pieces as I was replacing it anyway. Figured it was safer to cut the plastic in sections then risk breaking the glass. Only other option would be to use Weldon to secure a piece of acrylic over the brace but I'm not sure how...

    center brace on 120?

If there is any part of the center brace remaining, you can cut a piece of acrylic to fit then drill and tap it and use threaded nylon thumb screws to attach it to what's left of the brace. Or if it is a standard size tank most LFS can order you a whole new top trim piece.

The pale may work but I am concerned that in such a small area he may harm himself on the heater. If I may make 1 suggestion, see if you can obtain some Beta Glucan capsules from your local health food store or vitamin shop. Open a capsule and sprinkle it on the mysis allowing it to soak in a...

Any way you can pick up a 10 or even 15 gallon tank? How is the fishes appetite? What is he eating?

Sorry for missing your post. I would extend the treatment to 10 days. Hopefully you are treating in a hospital tank and not the main display. No matter what the package says, all medications are bio-filter toxic, especially antibiotics.

    Hydroids?

I would definitely classify that as drastic measures.
