I would say in the lower 1/3 of the tank should be fine.

    where to place branch frogspawn/hammer

What type of lighting and flow do you have? I keep my frogspawn on the sandbed under 2x65w PC lighting. The flow is just enough that is gently sways but isn't being blown around. They like moderate lighting and low to moderate flow.

    Congrats Steve (aka hurtback)

I agree, they are fascinating creatures. Hex tanks are nice, but their biggest draw back is lack of surface area which leads to poor gas exchange. Of course if you are running a sump, this will help eliminate that problem. One of these days we must get together and talk about your set up. I...

Ok good enough reason for me. Maybe look at the Quiet One pumps.

    Help with return pump failure.

Why not just get a new impeller? Much cheaper than a new pump.

    center brace

Without that brace, your tank will certainly bow and eventually blow apart. You can replace it with a clear acrylic brace. But the tank must be empty before you ry to do anything with that brace.

    thinking of new tank

Biggest issue is going to be your temperature. Seahorses need a max temp of 74, while anenomes and clowns like temps closer to 78-80 degrees.

Looking great Bill. Is that green a nepthea or a sinularia? Hard to tell from the pic.

I'm leaning towards an anenome me too. Someone suggested it is a mace anenome (form of hydroid).

Well I've had it for about a month or so and it hasn't split yet. Of course it's been in the dark for about 2 weeks and it doesn't seem to have hurt it any.

Anybody got a clue what this is? It came on one of my blasto colonies. It looks to be a polyp or anenome of some sort. It is about the size of a quarter.

    My newest tank

The stars I got are about 3-3.5 tip to tip so that should last them a while then. I love watching these guys, luckily their tank is 12 gallons so there isn't a ton of places they can hide. They have the whole tank to themselves and seem to be loving it so far.

    My newest tank

Thanks John. They seem to be settling in rather nicely. They both jumped on the star when I added it today, they are not letting it get too far away from them. I was told that the female was the larger of the 2. Now a couple questions for you: How long does it normally take them to get through...
