Francis,
If you have an AquaController, you can plug the fan into the DC8 and set it to come on when the temp reaches a certain point and go off when it drops down.
Re: The start of my 30g Cube (Ricordea and Zoo's)
Thanks for the info. I am definitely going to need to think about the return pump. It's a seahorse tank so I am going to need something a little less powerful.
I really like the center island LR look. Leaves lots of open room.
Re: The start of my 30g Cube (Ricordea and Zoo's)
Brian it looks great.
Is it an Oceanic 30 cube? What sump are you using or is it custom made? What size/type overflow and return pump are you using?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to put a sump under my 30 cube and was just looking for...
Looks great so far. Something you can do to lessen the chances of your pump running dry is to put a 90 degree elbow facing down on the pump's intake, this will draw the return water off the bottom and give you and extra couple inches of safety room.
Damsels and clowns are the same fish, only difference is clowns wear fancier clothes. They are all just as spiteful and nasty as the rest. If the fish thinks the frag is even remotely close to it's territory, it will move them. My 4" female clown picks up rocks the size of golf balls like...
Could also be one of your fish. My female clown loves to move frags around the tank. I've seen her pick up the plugs or discs and carry them around the tank.
Glue will not work with mushrooms. They will just slime right off of it. Best bet for them is a shllow container with rubble in it and allow them to attache on their own. You can cover the container with some netting to keep the shrooms from being blown out.
Nope these are the shrimp you buy in the supermarket to eat. So just be aware that if you do order them, they will get huge.
Not sure if this is where the Dr's are getting them from but you can also order them directly from a farm if you'd like. George is the owner's name and he can answer any...
ILC gets their seahorses from DracoMarine, a breeder out of Baltimore, MD. I would be comfortable getting them as I know the breeder and his stock is one of the best around. He is very reputable.
No need to really start one here. I can follow your progress at SH.Org.
Of course if you want to post here also, by all means feel free. We love to see tank progression here as well.
Thanks Brian. Which bulbs are you going to use? I run 4x39w on the tank.
Front to back the bulbs are:
Geissman Actinic+
GE 6500K Daylight
Current USA 10,000K Daylight
Geissman Actinic+
The 6500K bulb has the highest PAR of all the T5's. So iff you want some penetration to your lights, add...
