Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Wow! Just watched the videos. I'm surprised. I still feel that it is going to take some time to totally "zap" an aptasia/majano.
As far as the concern for glass, lasers are only going to have a problem if there are impurities or imperfections within the glass. If there are, pop...
So Pete, what's going on? Is it a double exposure? Are you Noah, and do you know more about all this snow then we know, and are you collecting two by two.....and do you know what a cubit is? Or have you gone nuts with two Hippo's and two Yellow's?
What did Dr. Evil say about putting lasers on sharks?
Although 5w is strong for a hand-held laser, I'd be surprised if this worked by shooting through glass or water. The water will quickly diffuse the energy...and the further it has to travel, the less energy. This might work directly over...
Definitely following along, having been part of The Beast unloading party.
Sorry about the mishap with the lifting strap.....could have been a lot worse.....for you and the tank. HERE's straps at Harbor Freight that should take the load.....not bad for 12 bucks.
I also have a large...
If you're going the saltwater route, forget about bringing a glass tank.....bring a salt bucket (or two). They seal well; you can use them for the water as well; the thermal mass of approximately four gallons will travel well in a heated car. Bring along a small heater and pump for when...
I'm not sure if you're talking about the sight of the feeder or the sight of the food floating on the water surface. If it's the food, simply use a feeding ring. They do sell them, but I made these two out of tubing I already had. One has two suction cups to attach in a corner next to...
Thanks for the kind comments everyone, but with the recent issues over "what color is the dress,"
I just wanted to clarify that the above corals are in my tank. Don't let your eye-to-brain connection fool you with corals as well. I know that they look exactly like recent pictures...
Ace, welcome. I'd suggest you start a Tale of the Tank thread were you can document your progress and continue to ask questions. Without knowing what drainage system you have, I'm going to guess it's a durso. If that is the case, a common problem is that it intermittently siphoned water...
Karen, great job, but you forgot Tim junior, who pulled on my pant legs mutliple times, and the (maybe) bulldog in the back yard who jumped on my legs four of five times to only attempt unsuccessfully to roll over on his back for a belly rub. :p
Thank you Tim and family for having us at your house. Always enjoy seeing the old crew as well as meeting new ones. I think the real meeting was in the garage with the new tank. I know pictures were taken, and hopefully will be posted. To top off the meeting, I was a big winner of frags...
I was fortunate enough to be a big winner at this month's NJRC meeting. Here are the pieces I picked up. Sorry for the quality, it's my little point-n-shoot camera, and this is right after a dip in Bayer and fresh water.
1. Unknow Zoa from Ultimate Corals....sorry, it's so PO'ed from being...
Pete, I'm not sure if I'm following your verbage....to be clear, the order should be:
Raw Water --> Sediment Filter -->Carbon Block(s) -->BOOSTER PUMP --> RO Membrane --> DI Resin --> Clean Water
