Anything chased can jump.
I have lost two fish in a year...firefish and a pygmy angel.
One a known jumper one not.
You can only minimize your losses by keeping the fish that are not known to jump or fish that are not terrorized by the fish you have. I am guessing that one of my tangs got upset...
Small angels I agree become less agressive in larger tanks, also I think as someone suggested their picking is so widespread that they don't bother any one thing. I had a pygmy angel and once in a while you would see him pick some coral then move on to pick something from the rock 30 times.
When you get 25 posts you can PM...designed to keep the sales guys from just swooping in and posting crap for sale. As you are aware we are a non profit organization so try to cut out that stuff as much as possible. Welcome to the board.
Yep I think I paid 3 bucks a lb for most of my rock from a fellow reefer. Trop has base rock which is heavier but less expensive, live rock is about 6 bucks a lb I think. Marco Rock which can be great shapes ect is dead which means no goodies or baddies but you have to cure it. Less expensive...
Use eggcrate and build a platform..you will only need a very small amount of floss soap bar sized really pretty cheap even if you get the real floss and not pillow stuffing which is probably the same but I figure with my luck it will turn out to contain radioactive fish killing somethingorother.
AO has LR,LS etc. So do OGII and Red Sand. I know there is a store that has some pretty inexpensive LR but is closer to Philly I think. At MACNA one of our sponsors Marco Rocks will have dry rock for sale.
AO sells RO water not sure about salt...water is one thing that TROP sells at a...
Dr Jim sells all fish that have been through his QT plan. I like AO for fish. While closer to Trop you might find better prices at AO or OGII IMHO. Welcome and if you need help I am not far over in Little Silver.

I got the diamond wheel think it is...saw MikeM using it and picked one up.
Noticed it smelled a lot like when you get a cavity filled at the dentist office. Only did it once.
Just make sure you change out the floss/pad very frequently so as to not build up on nitrates. I would recommend floss twice a week, pad rinse same and replace max 2 weeks.
Well for most tangs yes....55 is a weird size, which is what I have (and almost everyone who has ever done fresh water has had at some point) for my fresh water. It is nice length but so narrow. So long as you are using it as an excuse to upgrade I won't bark to loud about it. But for the fish's...
