Phyl/John, the tank looks amazing. Makes me happier that I purchased a 180. One question. Is that a cap in the middle of the tank with a yellow trim around it? What is it called?
I don't see that 20g being a problem if you have to empty out the 72g tank. Just remove the 72 when its emty and slide in the 20g. Here is my sump under my 72g . I even have a calcium reactor set up on the back left corner behind the refuge. Its pretty tight but I don't need to put anything else...
I can tell you that I had a big problem with bubble algae. What I did was purchased a canister filter (Magnum 350), filled it with carbon and a filter sock that comes with it and started vucuuming the bubble algae while trying not to burst them. I also purchased an Emerald Crab and have been...
Don't mind the cleaning to much. My only concern now is all the air bubbles that both skimmers are going to create. Maybe by seperating each baffles wider than an inch might solve the problem when I build my sump.
Reason for asking is that I can't afford a more powerfull skimmer. I am planning on purchasing a Euro-Reef RC135 skimmer for a really good price. My setup will consist of a 120 gallon tank with a 50 gallon sump. This will be a medium load setup. Now if I decide to stock heavily the Euro will not...
I purchased this 48" Current Outer Orbit/T5HO 2x150w from Danny (Roadking05) about a month ago. I originally wanted the 250 watt version but at the time no one was selling one and I purchased his. I finally found one and purchased it. So now I'm selling the one I got from Danny (48" Current...
Depending on the corals that one has, the tentacles come out at night (when lights are off). The food than sticks to the tentacles and the corals can eat. I feed every other day or every two days.
I don't know the specific amount of food to feed my corals but what I do is, stop the overflow and keep the pumps running. Than I put some cyclop-eeze in the tank in front of the pumps and let it spread all around. At this point I hope that all the corals catch some of the food with there...
Your off to a good start in my opinion. Do you have any corals? This is something you have to take into consideration as some fish like to pick at corals. I also like the Yellow Tang. You could get a small one, but might have to get rid off it at some point as your tank might be to small.
