Mike, how much evaporation (gallons per week) do you get from that light fixture? How high do you have it off the tank? I'm looking into the same fixture or the Aquatinics Solar Flare (T5's).
Mike, your display is beautiful. Hopefully I will have a 120 by the end of this weekend. What type of lighting do you have over it? I currently have T5's but don't think they will do well on a 120 tank.
I will be putting this in my sump. One output is for the calcium reactor, one for the phosban reactor and the other is for anything else that needs a little extra flow.
OK, here are pics of my Acan. It looks like its melting. Can someone also please identify what kind/name of it. Reefer Jf2381 recommended I spot feed it. He says I have enough flow and good lighting. Is there anything else I can do?
What I would like to do is cure some of my rocks in my tank. There is some kind of weed growing on some of them. I have to pull it out every two weeks. Its getting annoying. The big problem is that some of the rocks have corals and sponges on them. Here is what i'm dealing with:
I will be curing Marco rocks from the Frag swap. This will be curing in the garage. The last thing I want, is to hear is the wife complaining about bad smell.
I do a water change on my tank every two weeks. Can I use that water to cure dry rocks or do I have to make freshly salt water to cure it? I will also be changing the curing rocks water every two weeks.
I thought if you disrupt a sand bed, things can die cause of bad things/chemicals forming in the bed. That being said, how is it that people can sell there live sand to other reefers? Would't it kill there new live stock?
Thanks everyone for the help. I've noticed that everyone is mentioning "flow". That is one thing that has changed in the tank. I had one big pump in there but had to change it after the frag swap. After putting in all of the corals that I purchased at the swap, the pump was to strong. I lowered...
My wife got some good news today.... The insurance company just informed her that she should get back the full value of the items that was stolen and not what she payed when it was on sale :o :o :o.
