I wounder how my corals and fish feel when my fuge light comes on at 9pm and off at 5am? I have a bare bottom tank and the light shine right through the bottom glass.

Well, when I came back from vacation I found the piece that was hanging off the brain on the bottom glass. Thankfully it is still alive as I can see some tentacles moving. Even when I pick it up it gets a little slimy. Right now its just siting on a big rock. I need a small rock to put it on...

This is my closed brain. If you notice to the bottom right, there is a piece hanging off the brain. It looks like its about to fall off on its own. I can actually see through the flesh that is holding it together. Can I just cut this off with a razor? Will it grow again if I attach it to a rock...

Thanks everyone for the good news and the help. I have more questions. Since I will be going on vacation next week (leaving Saturday), would it be safe to do a 20% water change on Friday? Should I turn on the calcium reactor and leave it running while I'm gone?

WOW..... I am glad I didn't kill anything. Now for the white stuff. What should I do? Just leave it in the tank or vaccum it. I think it will take a long time for the skimmer to skim it out. What about the pods in the fuge? Do you think they will be OK? I've been trying to build a supply of pods...

Just got a call from home and was told that the tank has cleared up but all of the rocks are white including the cheato in the refuge. There is a white powdery substance on them. What should I do? Should I vacuum all the white stuff out? I have a 72 gal tank with 30 gal sump.

I just mixed a one gallon Two Part Mix solution. When I poured the Alkalinity portion in the sump, the water turned white and there was allot of white flakes floating around than they dissolved pretty quickly. Is this suppose to happen?
