Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
And I just think it is safer to do this over a period of a few days and not risk additional stress.
I'll rest my case. Aaron, it's up to you to decide. Of course the debate has lasted a couple of days already, so you may have already decided! ;D
I guess I only rate half a point, I have no clue about DragonCon. I have been to Tuxedo for the NYRF, but not for a long time. When is the fair this year??
Thanks mladencovic!
Lot's of stuff there. I'm not into trilogies in particular but I know the Forgotten Realms series that the Dark Elf Trilogy is part of, has a Trilogy that follows the one I just read.
The simplest ain't always the best, and I absolutely disagree with this approach. Don't have the details, but the chemists will tell you that there are reactions that occur when salt is first mixed that need to stabilize. Any time you mix new salt water it is best to aerate it for 24 hours and...
That's good feedback Jeff. My original plans were to just have the 8 VHO's. I currently have 5 over the 75. I figured with the increase in width and depth of the 180 vs the 75, I figured the 8 bulb configuration would be too much of a drop in light, but I really think LPS look better under...
Only bad things happen quickly in reefing.
You've shocked the system once, you don't want to do it twice.
Definitely start addressing it today, but I'd go with Phyl's approach. Unless things are starting to die off already, I would go with daily water changes mixed at 1.030 or so.
What is...
Hey John and Phyl, Dark Elf Trilogy concludes tonight.
I really liked it, and yes John, I did get a homily idea! One of Drizzt's journal excerpts near the end of Sojourn caught my attention.
So what's the next trilogy? Although I think I might revisit Dune while this is still fresh in my mind...
Looks like somone likes Foundation! ;D
I read the trilogy, I liked it and I stopped there. The reason I stopped is I read it in the 70's!
I'll probably read it again as I don't remember a lot of it. After all, I've been hiding my own Easter eggs for a few years now! ;)
A few reasons. The overlap of the many bulbs in the center will give me a bright zone for and LPS island. I have a stock of VHO's that should cover me through this year. And eventually I plan on trying overdriving NO bulbs for the white light. And finally, I didn' want to buy another 660 now...
Short term approach is cleanup crews, I like Emerald Crabs.
Long term approach is to limit the nutrients feeding it.
Tell us about your tank and maintenance routine.
How big is the tank, how long has it been running? Sandbed or no? How many fish, what do you feed? Do you use RO/DI water when...
Too bad you weren't at our meeting last year at Jenkinsons with Bob Fenner.
During the after meeting beer and pizza Bob and I were chatting about our pet business backgrounds. I believe Bob scouted A&T as a possible Petco acquisition. In their heyday A&T had 5 or 6 stores in NJ and NY.
Anyway...
Hey thanks John!
I already bought another 660. I'm planning on 4x110w VHO Super Actinic driven by a 600, 4 x 110w VHO 50/50 driven by a 660 and 2 39wT5 daylight driven by a 430.
I'm with Merv on the flow through the sump. I run a mag 7 on a 75 gallon.
In the tank we are very different. I keep mostly LPS, especially frogspawns and hammers. I have 2 maxi jet 1200's hooked to an aquacontroller that pulse to provide surge current. One is on for 1 minute and off for 4, the...
I have, he's in my tank! And he came from Aquatic Obsessions! ;D
I know that doesn't help, but check in with AO as they do try to keep those on hand.
Happy Birthday!!
Hey Mike!
Lighting equipment is pretty much set. I want to get a breaker box to mount the 3 icecap ballasts near the tank.
When I get the tank and sump home, I'll figure out the plumbing needs.
I'll probably pickup a Hydor next time AO gets them in. Not sure if I want a 3 or a 4.
Other than...
1.5 teaspoons per gallon of RO/DI water that you are using for the drip, NOT the volume of your tank! BE CAREFUL
Just add 1.5 teaspoons to 1 gallon of RO/DI water and drip that gallon of water into your tank, slowly!
Hey Mike,
Film away because it will be all uphill from mine! 8)
I can add a brief eulogy to the video as well. I really hope I'm doing the right thing with this upgrade because I do love that tank! ::)
Oh, and just a little side story from my A&T days.
I use to manage a store for them on 5th avenue and 14th, and Alice Cooper was our neighbor and customer.
I use to take care of the fish tank in the office. What a staff he had! ;D
