I would leave them empty the weight of the rock you're attaching to them should be more than enough to keep them from floating or anything.

Get yourself a masonry bit. They're a bit more expensive but will last longer drilling rock than a standard drill bit. It looks almost identical to a standard bit but is made from different materials and designed to drill rock, concrete, brick etc

A 1" bulkhead can handle about 600gph when used with a durso standpipe. This is assuming the bulkhead is on the bottom of the tank. So when looking at a pump look for something that is right around 600gph. Depending on how much head you have a mag 7 should work well.

What size drain do you have on the tank? Also will this just be your return pump or are you planning on using a manifold and running your reactors from the same pump?

Just to note you need a valid nj fishing license to participate.
