Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I just re-read this entire string...the snail may either be a sundial - but more likely in my opinion to be a colonista - I've had tons of those - no harm whatsoever. Look it up and see if it matches your snail.

oh and really early on you were asking about an unknown...
Have you tried the cranbury outlet for C&B? I never went in (only to pick up an item) but you could always look up online and have them deliver it to the Cranbury warehouse for pick up later. Save on the shipping costs. Of course - for the price of the wall unit at C&B - you could also probably...
May sound dumb but when I read this I was like - I don't see the mantis in the tank - what am I missing here...???
then I looked at your userid...DUH!
;D

Nice tank and great pics - I like the bangai cardinal detail!
In the past you had two other tanks - any more updated pics of those? Or did you take those down to set this one up?
welcome!
how did you find the forum? Curiosity aside, are you near NY? are you "just north" of interstate 78? Or are you all the way over by PA?
If you are closer to the GWB side - I'd send you over the bridge to do some window shopping - maybe at Petqua on the upper west side or new world...
congratulations!!! On your last comment - I picked up a 120 but haven't had the time/resources to get it set up yet...so it sits empty. I'm hoping in the next few months to line up the appropriate items and then be ready for the 2008 frag swap! Though it is tough to avoid the temptation of...
There are a lot of other viable alternatives - just check out the sponsor list/vendor forum. But if you are in that area specifically - Aquatic obsessions is not even a 2~3 minute drive over.
Speaking of which - they are looking into getting some nudibranches that consume aiptasia...so you...
A bit of controversy with these - GARF reports that certain species will eat SPS...while other hobbyists report no detrimental impact at all.
I have never heard them eating coralline - but (shrug) so much of the stuff grows in a tank - even if they do eat it - it's hardly noticeable.
wow that bi-color looks a lot like a royal gramma. Both (in my opinion) can be tempermental - but sorry to hear about the pseudo...
also thanks for mentioning the losses/mistakes - it's really helpful for others (myself included) to read and hopefully learn not to repeat. Not everyone mentions...
mike makes a good point - if you have treated your fw fish with any copper - it may leech back. May not be an issue if you are going to have a FO (Fish only) or FOWLR (FO with live rock). But any inverts you introduce may be adversely impacted.
could you pick up one of those small portable de-humidifiers as a stop-gap until a more permanent solution could be attained?
I had mold on all of my window sills - but the problem in our case was the windows were bent/old/a mess when we bought the house. We replaced the windows and then had a...
while you dodge chlorine in well water - you may have other issues. I dunno if we have a group buy on RO/DI this year - but that is something to consider investing in.
Welcome to the forum!
i imagine if using a phosban reactor the media takes 3 months or so - then similarly that would apply to just a bag tossed in the sump. Mind you unless the water is somehow actively pushed thru the media - it's not going to help you a whole lot if the water just flows around the bag...since...
My theory - you may have spotted baby amphipods and the half inch pistol hitched into your tank somehow. But if you do find that you are breeding pistols, can I be on your list of "shrimp-frag" buyers? ;D
If there is one thing this hobby has proven - it is that last decade's (or maybe two decades ago) underwater gravel filter to this years prodibio - there are many many ways to do and execute to get to a hypothetical "ideal". Some consider one method the holy grail, while others say it's snake...
Try some frozen cyclopeeze...if you know where it is you could gently jet a batch of food via pipette.
There was a pretty good article on these guys in November 2007 Aquarium Fish International Magazine.
Any pics? Are these the citron gobies? Or some other species?
