Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I would tell them to give you a tracking number or you call your cc and do a hold. I don't think any e-tailer should charge your cc and not ship an item...makes no sense. What if the item ends up getting backordered for a month? U just lent them an interest-free loan for 30 days.
Maybe I'm off...
similar to kathain - i have several email accts - one for this forum and then one that goes on the resume and then one just for ebay/amazon/junk etc.
It doesn't hurt to be careful on for sale / trade boards and not post an email address. If you absolutely have to - it's best to write it...
welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I personally like the aqua-c - but it does take some time to "break-in" so that initially it looks like a total lost cause... :P I did read that some folks attach a mag 7 instead- something to consider.
I set up a ev120 on my 55 reef tank...I know - it was overkill but I...
Re: Here's my 120
Nice...thanks for posting - gives inspiration for guys like me who stare at an empty tank...I still have to figure out the overflows/bulkheads for my 120... ;) just haven't had time to make a stop at lowes.
The royal gramma i have is a bit shy and tends to hide unless food is in the water column. I can't recall exactly but we've had the guy for about 2~3 years...still in my old 55 gallon. It's not like he swims the entire 55 gallons - it's more like he has one spot he likes and stays there. So I...
Again - I could be totally off - but I presume that folks that get nanos aren't looking to also setup another reservoir underneath the nano...
If I were to choose between a refugium and a skimmer - it would depend on the quality of the skimmer - and I would lean toward a skimmer. My thoughts...
This may sound like a dumb question - but why are you setting up a sump on a 20 gallon? I was thinking about all those nanos that are like 24gallon aquapods and I don't recall any of them setting up a sump with it. Couldn't you use the space that the HOB overflow would be and place a hob skimmer...
Totally understand - mine is the "wife" now and long ago she expressed interest in a sea horse tank...I have to keep this post secret lest she read over my shoulder and find out panmanmatt is an expert...oh dang it I'm not a mod for this forum! ;D
Cool pics and love those gobies. The other...
I thought there was a guy on njrc who is a teacher in newark, nj...I thought it was in his sig....i think the handle was tunica or tunicata - I have to double check. Apologies if you're not the guy!
I could be totally off on this - but with a semi-frequent water change schedule - you could avoid having the need for a skimmer. That stated, I thought the aquapod comes with everything built-in? Never used the tunze skimmers but read a lot of positive on them - the customer service is excellent...
This is the one I (bad pic) had from my tbs rock:
They were just dents and only after being in the tank did they come up - possibly because there was a slight ammonia presence when part 2 (when I got this) was introduced.
This is a pic from coastal planning & engineering in Florida.
It only...
pure hypothesis - but
a) the quality of the LED bulbs is inferior to say the ones being manufactured for the Solaris fixures.
b) the LED bulbs are adversely impacted by the main display lights (MH heat etc).
c) while they are rated for 10,000 hrs - perhaps they are not rated to go full output...
Re: You might want to read this because of high concentration of this in our tan
I was trapped on a plane and after it was over I heard loud groans in the back complaining about the movie!!!
It looks like Cladocora arbuscula (tube coral).
But eh - I find it interesting that you say yours "grew"...tube coral the skeleton is pretty slow to grow out - hence when you said they spread - it made it sound like aiptasia.
Perhaps you are lucky - most people that I have seen with this type...
