Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Wouldn't it be cool if NJ reefers could have a program similar to how the 'BBB' certifies good businesses - with like a sticker that is maintained annually to indicate that the saltwater tank has been checked and certified as "eco-friendly"...meaning it would have to meet some set of criteria...
In the early 80s when I struggled with the UGF and "wet/dry" "cannister" filter cutting edge equipment for my saltwater tank - I was really ticked that all that money just couldn't keep that system afloat.
So you could say part of my motivation is just the "challenge" of doing it.
But...
Wow interesting I've found just the opposite on a RR/drilled setup....dang I'll have to recant my post on that other topic now.
oh wait - I just re-read your post...maybe the experience is different because yours is HOB and mine isn't? interesting nevertheless.
Curious on this - a mag 7 -
a) I think the screws they use for those devices aren't great - I've seen a pair of mine rust.
b) Wouldn't a mag 7 (pushing at that speed) create a lot of "waterfall" / noise?
To me I guess I'd rather have the flow in the tank and use a smaller return.
But I...
LOL...
well I should have renamed this thread bathroom etiquette because clearly he needs to read up on it!
and yes - I think URI VHO 420nm peak lights are superb!
Are we allowed to discuss politicians? If not I apologize for bringing this up.
I just wanted to say that I've been to enough airports and gone thru enough men's rooms that I would never, ever, ever, ever, dare to try and pick up any paper on the floor. Maybe if my passport fell out of my...
Congratulations!
This is something I tell all my friends when they say they got engaged - and it's purely my sarcastic humor -
"You were sober right when you asked?"
But usually perhaps that question should be directed to the woman saying yes... ;D
I'm joking I'm joking!
great story..though the final price is when the winning bidder (redsox07) actually pays....
I didn't even know they still sell pokemon stuff.
Gotta love ebay - it's like being able to go to all the yard sales in your neighborhood (and beyond) without wasting a single gallon of gas.
For those of you in the Middlesex area - along with the usual grouping of postal junk mail, I saw this in the "2007/2008 community resource guide".
There is a listing on the third page under JJ Elek Reality Co.
The pic in the upper left hand corner shows what appears to be the parking lot of...
if it's based on volume then the only person who should get 5 stars would be carlo. ;D
I believe people use choc chip stars to feed their shrimp...I don't know how safe they are compared with linkias.
wow - I am so sorry. I was pulling out the dandelions in my lawn. I thought those seeds were washed into the gutter. I didn't realize it flew into your tank! ;D
awesome awesome pics.
Did they post signs that stated those critters were "freshwater"?
On the first pic - those fish appear to be Caranx hippos aka Jacks or Pompanos...those are saltwater fish that can tolerate river water (e.g. it's still salty). But to say freshwater makes me think they are...
thanks for sharing! I personally like that big ole' grouper staring at ya. With the clown pics I was thinking how it'd have been awesome if they just kept one species instead of mixing the two -still an impressive display.
and yeah that last pic is hilarous.
I know this isn't a competition for...
Soooo, lemme guess, AGA hires some consultant to come up with some new-fangled name...and comes up with "Aqueon". The prices better still be the same... ::)
I know some thread on RC mentioned the change - but just was wondering if folks on this board heard the same. Maybe I'm old school but...
I was more thinking that although the temp is 71 now, it will drop eventually. Whereas in our tanks 71 is super low and the lifespan of the critter would be shortened since our temps would accelerate the metabolism of the critters. That assumes they don't slowly cook in the tank. I'd imagine...
saltwater4life,
I'm sorry about your corals going thru this period. you'll bounce back in no time I'm sure given the great advice here.
If I may be so bold, I see you are dosing various items, but are you testing? If anything comes from this, I would strongly urge that before you purchase any...
