Sounds like it is good for acros in general and is not a medication like flatworm exit. In other words, sounds like something I am going to dose for the health of the acros. Looking forward to the orders and will give me an excuse to get out there.
Might be a flow issue, as in there is not enough flow or it is not in a place where it is moving things around. If fish food and detritus settle on the rocks, you will get algae growth in those areas.
Are you sure it is hair algae? A picture would help.
We caught about 10 mins of this last night and it was amazing. Got to see mandarins in the wild and close ups of corals feeding on the reef. Really cool show.
Since it is already in the tank, you can use epoxy for them. Just about every store carries it and it will cure under water so you don't have to take the whole thing out.
While my experience with going down to the basement is none since I have not done it yet, I have read and seen enough tanks to offer some advice.
1. See if you can go through your wall and then down, it is easier to cut sheetrock and then replace it later on if it does not work out then going...
With your current stocking list it might be ok becaus those are all larger fish that can hold their own against most other fish. Most horror stories from six lines come from more peaceful fish (firefish, basslets, less aggressive clowns, gobies) but I have read stories of them going after...
That wrasse should be fine in QT, the only reason Howze asked is some species of wrasses you do not want to quarantine (leopards) and some you need some sand as that is what they sleep in.
I think the 10g will be fine for one fish. Did you get the six line yet or is this an upcoming purchase...
1. Keep the acan down low, the higher the light they will just morph to one color (red or orange) and lose all the cool color
2. GSP with win over zoas and just about everything else, as John said keep it in an area that it can't thread.
