High flow salt water and all the critters in our tanks would probably wear that off pretty quickly.

I tried clicking on Home tab first, then the What's New tab, then New Posts. The menu bar stayed the whole time. So I can't figure out what's disappearing for you Sunny.
I've never had a bubble algae outbreak, but I got a few corals that had a couple on there. Manual removal is the best option if at all possible.
