Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
If you go over to BRS right on the top of their website is a calculator. You can enter in your total water volume and they will give you the exact amount. Works good for someone like me who is not good at math.
It is a sponge, and I agree with darren it can choke out some corals. Sponges are mostly beneficial for water quality and what not but again I would not let them get to close to the corals. Where some run into problems with the sponges is when they are exposed to air they begin to die rapidly...
It is always the little things that get in the way. In my old apartment, the tank and stand looked great until I filled it with water and then I realized how sloped back to front it was. I shimmed it on up but it messed up my plans around the tank and had to change it around.
Time for some pics:
Sun coral:
Clowns:
Whole bunch of random shots from my frag rack. Yes I just posted these in the other thread but wanted to preserve them here as well:
Arabella from Jason Fox (Have been wanting this for 7 months):
No named favia from Fox:
Toxic Pie from Fox (I have been trying to get a frag of this for almost 2 years)
Fox's Purple Polyp Scroll Coral:
Chalice from zoanthids.com (yes I got a chalice from zoanthids.com)
Also forgot, take a level when the tank is empty and full and put it on the front, back and side of the tank to see if there is any areas that are not level.
Baltimore is pretty amazing, I had a post up but might have lost it in the crash. Maybe I will repost it at some point. Seattle was really nice don't have any pictures from there. We really enjoy the Disney's Sea exhibit down in Disney World in Epcot. Camden is decent, worth a trip if you...
If it is the stand, I would us these things, it is what I have used.

Yes, the setup is pump to reactor one which is connected right to reactor 2 and then back into the sump. There is a tlf ball valve between the mj600 and the 1st reactor. I have a mj1200 if I feel I need to upgrade.
Depends on the coral and how long you have had 50 ppm nitrates. Some corals will do ok and even thrive in those conditions but SPS will over time brown out and die with that level of nitrates.
To keep this thread on track I picked up some warner marine eco bak pellets. I have 2 MR1 shorties...
Thank you all for the responses, we were a bit busy here planning for the frag swap and finally sat down to go over the list of people who contacted us. We made our decision and pmed the person, so if you did not get a pm sorry. We will keep you in mind for the next one.
You are in for a an enchanting experience that is like being a kid who gets to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah. Depending on how far you have to travel a coooler is a good idea as you want to make sure your frags get home safe and sound. I usually bring a little stereo to play comforting...
Our RBTA FINALLY split after we redid the aquascaping in the tank. This thing is still pretty big, we are not sure which half we are going to get out, depends on which one is easier. I would guess when fully expanded this thing is 12 inches across.
Couple of notes, this was a split that was...
Tell me about it, one of the things I learned is when switching to a sump you have to plan. In my HOB days, I just hung something in a different spot and did not have to worry about it. Now with the rimless and the fact that it is in our living room, I can't hang or mount anything on the...
Is there a constant presence of water between the two tanks with the litermeter? Essentially is there any ways something could "swim" up the litermeter and into your DT? The only reason I ask is I know when you do a treatment for red bugs you have to treat the whole tank because they can get...
The breeder told me the kitten should be in a a very comfortable place so I figured it would appreciate something hairy. I was orginally going to post here are two hairy beasts. In all honesty though, you guys should not be shocked to find a hairy Italian living in New Jersey it really is par...
