Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Hey I know the answer to this. I had an electrician over to wire my tank outlets. They have a tool that goes around the main line coming into the fuse box that will show what you house is drawing in at a particular time. Mine was very low it did spike once the AC kicked on but overall I am...
OK I gave you a big rundown on a few things in the other thread.
Now I will save you some money. Next month we have a group buy at Premium Aquatics.
You can buy salt(there is some on sale), skimmer maybe an Octopus hang on skimmer if you so desire. You save 15%, get to pick it up free of...
Hey Ryan don't get upset at folks. I warned you that there a lot of differences of opinions.
Universally though RO/DI water is the way to go. Topiquarium will even sell you premixed salt water for $1.00 RO/DI water for $.50. For your tank you can use their premix saltwater. I have had very good...
RO/DI water is water that has been specially filtered. You can get a unit from one of our venders, next month is a group buy, they generally cost between 100-150 that would give you a lot of water. I bought mine from Tropiquarium for the first year premade but as I gear up for my bigger tank I...
You need to use RO/DI water. For a 30 gallon tank you can get away with buying the water. Tap water has a lot of stuff you don't want some of the local fish stores (LFS) sell water you can buy 5 G at a time. Remember when you add rock you will displace water so you will not need a full 30 G...
Welcome aboard Ryan.
First congratulations on asking questions the people here are a load of help.
Let me say that there are a lot of different opinions and more then one can be right. My nano tank was doing very well without a skimmer until my fuge light died. With a 30 G tank some people set...
Natural sea water can be found but it is like 2 dollars a gallon at some of the LFS. Tropiquarium makes their own salt water, they are in central NJ at 1 dollar a gallon. Then you can buy a RO/DI unit and make your own. Dr Fosters is the cheapest to get the salt shipped to you.
I had mine built by Orca Systems.
It was great unfortunately DHL kicked the side in.

I didn't get the skimmer though he is going to show me some custom ones. You can...
Hey Steve. I think your three fish will be alright in a 10G for a while but I would wait till the house goes under contract. Let me tell you that could take a while the market is terrible at the momment. The realtor is blowing smoke up your parents you know what. I am not saying it isn't a great...
My gosh that is scary you are right...oh wait we are supposed to be supportive right?
It looks great you will have a lot to put into your new tank though and your tang should be super happy. ;D
They built mine specifically ... but he is going to show me custom skimmer too, not 100% sure but if the price is right I am going to let him build it for me also. I think it is better quality at a great price.
Here is a link for a great place to buy a your sump. I had mine made there and they are really very reasonable.
Plus I go back to my made in USA thing.

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Hmmmm I thought maybe that might be the case. The sea swirl looks interesting but because it is on my internal overflow it won't work so well. I have one pump but two return lines so the squid thing would be perfect if I didn't loose a ton of flow.
