Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I think I answered my own question! It would appear that all of us that use an Atman / ViaAqua pumps are up the creek without a pump. If the pump is no longer available, nothing else fits without changing a bunch of stuff. I’m ticked!
They are now selling a kit to upgrade your old NAC6...
This is most interesting. The Atman 2500 is actually the ViaAqua 2600 pump. I just looked up this pump and it states the manufacturer is no longer supplying / producing this pump.
I have the SWC 160 that also uses the Atmann / Via Aqua pump. Although I now have three of these pumps, I...

I thought you were talking about conventional screen you find on a storm door. The bird netting mentined above is much more open than convention screen and therefore will allow more light. The BRS screen (FOUND HERE), comes clear and is available in ¼ inch and ½ inch sizes.
Their plastic screen is just fine. Realize you will loose a fair amount of light through the screen. I actually used screening as part of my light acclimation when going to LEDs.
If my little feeble mind remembers, AI’s have 80 degree optics. Now stay with me here….an LED directly over the tank is producing a cone of light, and if it were bisected in half vertically, two right triangles of light are witnessed, with the upper angle of 40 degrees (half of 80) and the...
First I need to come over there and slap you for abandoning RO/DI. :o
However, not using RO/DI has nothing to do with sponges showing up. They came in on something….rock, a frag, the treasure chest with the bubbles coming out, who knows??? They are not a bad thing….they are a good...
I picked up a melanurus wrasse this past Saturday (thank you to ThatGuy). After acclimating the fish, and placing him in the tank, he immediately buried himself in the sand, with a plume of sand being thrown up. It’s now been two days. Anyone wish to venture when I’ll see this guy?
I’m not getting the MacGyver reference…..he would take a transistor radio, a piece of string, and a paper clip and turn that into a computer. I’m just a dumb, retired chemist.
Let me give you a brief overview of the DI resin we use. First off, it’s a mix bed resin. This means that it...
Karen, if Brian doesn't have the correct wires, I'll look to see if I can find mine. Just don't know were I put them, but I'll look. However, that's not going to happen until after five today.
Anthony and Teri, thank you very much for a fun, informative and stinky meeting. I’ve looked at food recipes before, but this is the first time I’ve seen it made. A little messy and smelly, but not too bad. I think it was a good idea doing this in the garage.
We had an exceptional...
Wow! For the DIY Calc/Alc users, you’re holding a couple pallets of gold!
Peladow Calcium Chloride is good to use as a calcium chloride source. It too is anhydrous, so the formula is 2 cups to one gallon of RO/DI water. And if you get a 50lb bag….that’s about a life-time supply.
Prestone Driveway Heat.....an ice melt product....calcium chloride. Dissolve two cups in RO/DI water and bring up to one gallon.....again, the B-Ionic recipe. The problem might be finding an ice melt product now since it's seasonal.
EDIT TO ADD: BRS also sells a calcium chloride HERE...
LMAO…..(sorry for your loss)……I read this as if you were doing something, and accidentally hit the heater with a hammer.
I thought you had a controller??? Maybe Reef Angel?
