Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.

EDIT TO ADD: I'm in Internet Explorer now and the green button is there. So it's my problem. I wonder what's causing it, because it has been there in the past in Chrome.
Alcohol, you might be onto something. I went back and looked at multiple posts. It seems like only those who are not on line have the “clear” buttons…..here’s George:
When you are on line, that little button is green….I’m assuming a different picture. But everyone on line is not that...
Hopefully someone who knows cameras will comment, but here’s what I do….and I have no idea if this is correct. I put the camera into the white balance mode. I then hold up a piece of white paper in front of the camera and under the lights of the tank. I hit the button that adjusts white...
Is this my problem or is this a glitch with the site….the little “on-line” button that is right next to your screen name is now a box (most of the time). Within a post I’ve actually noted that most on-line buttons are boxes, while a few are the regular button.
Sorry for your losses. I become attached to my fish, so I know the feeling.
I speak with great ignorance….it’s the one thing I’m an expert at….but I was under the impression that you want a species specific tank for sea horses. One reason is their slow eating habits, where other fish will...
George, if there's room, I'm good for Group Buys. I've done Premium Aquatics before and $12K group buys for the referee organization I'm associated with. I am not a teacher and am very well organized.
Don't know what camera you're using, but simply "white balance" the camera. Even my cheap Canon point-n-shoot camera has this feature. This will take care of your blue pictures. :)
If you're looking for an in-sump pump, I'd consider a Danner MAG pump. You'll have to check your head-loss, but if the return pipes are not too long, with multiple elbows, a MAG 3 would give you a flow rate in the low 200's. Once you decide on the plumbing, check the head-loss HERE.
Johnny says drill it and put in a Glass-Holes……either Super Nano or 700 gph complete kit! If the sump is only 10 gallons, you might want to stick with the Super Nano.
No body wants this stuff. I know we have plant people out there. I’ll be at the meeting in South Jersey this month and can bring this to the meeting. IT"S FREE!
I have an SWC 160 with the Atman 2500 and here’s the secret for my pump. It kept on stalling when I first got it. I eventually found that if I put a couple telfon washers (available at HD) on the shaft on the front side of the pump, it works just fine. I’m guessing that the impeller stuff...
I see you’re attending this month’s meeting. If you don’t mind waiting until the meeting, and bringing the fish there, I’d like both the wrasse and pseudochromis.
Thanks Toad for the info. I actually spent some time noodling around the internet and found that JBJ owners needed to cut off the magnet for the Tunze to fit into the “basket” area. That’s the only place it fits. Also note that I do not use the standard stock hood. I’ve build my own...
12 to 18 inches is what the "book" says. I've got mine at 15. But really it boils down to how large an area you need to cover. Realize with 90 degree optics your "spread" is twice the height of the light. So if you're 12 inches up, any one LED is filling a 24 inch diameter circle. I...
Is this feasible? The wood square is the approximate dimension of the skimmer body. I should also point out this is not a typical JBJ hood. I now have this behemoth hood over the JBJ and could easily fit the skimmer…..in the tank itself. Now the question is whether this is feasible...
