Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
+1 The coin also looks like it’s in pretty rough shape….like it was on a road where multiple cars/trucks drove over it. I know it couldn’t have been a train, because we use to do that when I was a kid, and the coin would have been flattened.
As far as it’s worth, I’ll give you a buck for...
Don, with our old hosting company, when we put in “www.njreefers.org,” what would show up is www.njreefers.org/joomla. This is what I had bookmarked as a favorite years ago. When we changed to a new hosting company, I didn’t change the bookmark, and when I clicked on that “favorite”, first...
What kind of floor is the tank on? If it’s a slab (concrete), then I would suggest you level and shim the stand/tank. If it is on a floor with joists (wood beams), check the level on the floor. The weight of the tank might have deflected the floor. In that case you could use an adjustable...
Steve, looking phenomenal….the fish, corals and clam! Love those angels.
I also like the clean look of your water storage containers. Where did you them?
One “attaboy” for Taz! But only one. I wouldn’t want him to get a fat head. :p
The one thing I noticed is that the “http://www.njreefers.org/joomla/” is no longer redirected. You’ve got to get rid of the “joomla” now.
This didn’t cross my mind until you raised it qwik. I think I know what tree you’re barking up:
The Coralife/Zilla power strip.
Just averted a Fire Sticky
I'd stay away from local snails. A fellow member harvested some local snails and ended up having multiple skin reactions, some of which put him in the hospital. It took some time, but eventually figured out the snails contained the parasites that cause swimmers itch.
It is just me and my phobias, or is anyone else concerned about introducing unwanted parasites/bacteria/badassstuff into their tanks from wild caught stuff?
The water should be just fine, assuming the pump actually didn’t blow out it’s oil…and that would be obvious.
Electricity is long gone! (That assumes it's unplugged. )
Just cut off a piece. I then stick a toothpick through the leather and now tie it to a small rock or frag plug using thin string. Some use a rubber band, but if the tension is not just right, it rips the leather. It takes about a week for the leather to attach.
Oh, one more thing...no...
Trimming plants cuts off the apical meristem (the end of the plant), that otherwise inhibits lateral plant growth. You don’t have this mechanism with corals. They are individual animals in a colony.
However, that being said, fragging some corals will cause for branching, and I’ve also read...
This was originally put into “Don’t Break the Chain” by Sunny (Monroereef) and I now have gone with two BRS dosing pumps to dose two-part. So it’s back in the mix for free. HERE’s the link to info about TM Bio-Calcium. Here’s what Sunny originally posted, with the exception that PU is in...
Yep! November. Past two years it has been in the Trenton area. Looking for a new venue, but still central Jersey area.
HERE's the announcement to last years.
