If robbies reef has mandarins that take frozen, I would make the trip and pick them up. Also, my fiance and I are currently converting a mandarin over to frozen food. We started with a live brine culture (very easy to setup)and tigger pods then we went over to rods coral food now we are working...
We have a flame angel and a cherub angel. The flame is in 20 g (going to be moved into a 30 g very soon) that is filled with zoos and LPS and he picks at nothing. We just added a clam so we will see how that goes. The cherub angel is still in quarantine and is doing well. They are the smallest...
Mandarins can be taught to accept frozen food, it just takes a lot of effort. With your side tank, if you don't teach it to take frozen foods it will probably starve.
We just setup a CPR small refugium on the back of our 30 gallon. We put in a live sand bed with live rock rubble and a big wad of chaeto. We currently do not have a light on it as our MH pendant hangs up pretty high. We will be putting a light on it eventually and I keep a close eye on the...
my fiancee bought a two-headed dunkan in january; it now has seven smaller heads growing as well as the origional two. Take a look at the JBJ 12G thread in the nano forum.
The new heads are not full grown yet, but the coral is beautiful, and we are enjoying watching it grow.
Duncans are not that rare that it would warrant a 300 price tag. Don't get me wrong that is a beautiful piece of coral, but you can buy a much smaller piece and it will grow in time. Mr. Coral used to give them away for free with a 75$ order so think about that.
You are correct that is a bumble bee snail, I have not seen them eat anything in particular and they stay hidden most of the time. At the moment we have this tank, a 20g a 30g and two 5g quarantines setup. We are limited on this setup until we move into a house and then the fun begins.
They are currently having a 20% off sale for the next week on all of their corals. We just hit up the frag tank which is 2 for 35$ and then 20% off. I picked up two nice chalices and two nice birdsnest frags. They still have a ton of SPS and LPS frags available (If I did not already have the...
Chillers because they can be set at a certain temperature provide a more stable temperature overall which is always good. Fans can be a quick and easy fix if setup properly. If you are using a clip on fan, you are going to get more evaporation which is going to lead to changes in salinity.
